I don't get it?

You can ride with me, or you can find your own path. Don't stab me in the back after I've cleared the way.

It's an octoalien eating crop, leaving behind a crop circle.

Ahh. Gotcha.

Actually, no. I worked at a bookstore for 2-3 years and i was always about to pick one up but then I'd pick another author instead. Why do you ask?

He wrote a book that included bug-eyed monsters, and my mental image of them matches your drawing.

Book 2 of the Incarnations of Immortality, Bearing an Hourglass

The BEM's make an appearance in some of the Phase and Mode series as well, but the character starts in this one.

They're good books. I read a lot (like, a really lot...I bought a Kindle, and it paid for itself in discounted books within the first 6 months), but this series is one I'll always happily re-read.

Thank you I agree that he should have been bigger on the shirt but I needed to get a lot of crop circle on the shirt for the idea to translate. Also if he were any bigger I'd think the farmers would notice him munching on their crop!

I like it, I just wish it was the Flying Spaghetti Monster instead :/

It's a cute design to be sure. For me though, I had no idea that he was EATING the crops until you said so. And because it's not obvious enough that he's scarfing down the crops it's hard to grasp why an octopus is taking a stroll in a field, there's no logical reason that I can think of that makes me think, "Oh, I get it! How hilarious!" And I think having a connection to tie the idea together is really what gets the voters. Otherwise the octo alien might as well be somewhere in the ocean.
