Did the colors get a little more muted, or am I crazy?

The compression embrangles so bad. Click on the link I posted for a better version

Edit: embrangles? I didn't write that ha-ha. It SU-CKS!

The concept of this is very clever. I'm not too fond of that top font, but this still has my vote. Good job!

It still seems like it's not as bright as the version I looked at last night in the main derby thread.

Yeah, I just pulled them up and went from tab to tab... I definitely see a color difference between this and this.

I don't know. I didn't change the colors. Here are the Pantone colors I used:

Pantone Black 4 C - the dark brown
Pantone 7479 C - the green
Pantone 1795 C - the red
Pantone 115 C - the yellow
Pantone 3105 C - the blue
Pantone 157 C - the orange

The colors do look different but I'm guessing that's how it compressed...I didn't change them. I prefer them brighter and I think that's how it would print too. God, I need a Pantone color book

Edit: I don't know how to fix this, when I upload the image to host it, the colors fade out. The truest version as far as color is the second link in the first comment on this page. thanks for pointing that out yankeebird

Here's a sample for the colors. I'm pretty disappointed that the colors are not better looking on the comp. But they are much brighter, like this

Checklist:

1. JPG format
2. RGB mode
3. uncompressed at upload
4. 580x580px for comp, 240x240px for thumbnail

Number 4 is probably the biggest one for old school designers. When Woot switched to this new version of the forums, they also decreased the size of the comp from 600x600px.

Either way, I voted and I'd buy and wear it. I just didn't know if you'd changed it. Good luck!

The size is at 580 X 580. RBG, JPEG, uncompressed, check check check. I purposely dumped the quality because I wasn't able to upload my entry and in the midst of my submission freakout/meltdown, I thought maybe the max file size of 500kb dropped to something lower and I missed it...so I ended up submitting the terrible resolution version you see up there. What I don't understand is why the colors in my linked high-res versions changed...

Huh... I'm stumped. Maybe the place you're uploading the hi-res images has some strange compression algorithms?

Maybe. I tried imageshack (which worked for the small color sample and the original shirt comp, but not the larger res version). I dont know of any others. Thank you for your help I thought I was going nuts!

Yeah...I always wanted to use halftones but I never really had a good opportunity to do it in any of my entries. This one lent itself to it so well so I couldn't resist!

This is excellent! You've come such a long way lately. Look, you're just about top ten, and rightfully so. Great colors and excellent concept.

Thank you so much! I can't take all the credit. My boyfriend came up with this name a while ago and we joked that it should be the name of our band. When I read the derby theme this week we both knew it would be perfect. I will take the credit for the artwork though

Thank you for your encouragement, maybe one day one of my entries will get printed! That would be really really awesome! It must be a pretty satisfying feeling to know there are people walking around with your art on their shirt.

Thank you! That's a very nice compliment. I wish it would print too, if not just for me, I'll probably print one up somewhere for myself.

(BTW, I'm a ma'am, not a sir it's ok though I'm not offended, it happens from time to time...not in real life though. That would be bad)

Heheh, this is also my dream, and so are a couple hundred others. But I shall race you to the top! I bet you'll get their first though, but I won't mind coming in second, or third! Many luck to you!

I like it! The bright colors in the proper image look good, but the faded ones would do me fine as well. GMV and probably my money if it prints.

Thank you! I am very happy to hear that.

It's pretty obvious, though, that it won't print...breaks my heart! But if I got this printed elsewhere, maybe spreadshirt, would anyone be interested?

One day soon, mark my words, you will print here. Your work is refreshingly cute without being "cutesy" or overdone. You have such a wonderful style that is easy to see on both children and adults. I hope to be one of the first people to buy one of your designs when you do win. Keep up the good work!

PLEEEZ vote for this one! It's so clever & the art is great too. I really want to own one of these -- I'm so sick of the death & cynicism in so many of the entries!
