I've seen this octopus before but I don't remember which derby and I have no idea whose it was.

Unless you happen to be one of my friends on facebook, I'm afraid you are mistaken.

You may be thinking of the album cover for Kodo's Mondo Head. That's what it made me think of. It's similar in that it has an octopus playing the drums, but visually looks somewhat different. That's one of my favorite album covers of all time (and the drum work is incredible and great for demo reels ).

A.MAZ.ING!!! I would buy two, at least. Who wouldn't love a cephalopod playing the drums? Interesting fact: Octopi are one of the few animals capable of learning through observation.
Anyhoo... GMV! Good luck!

Do you play drums by any chance?

Thanks! And plus one for using the plural of octopus.

No not me! I have no musical talents whatsoever.

Also I believe the correct plural form of octopus is octopuses. I learned this other day from a coworker. Octopus is Greek, not Latin, so it's technically incorrect to add the i for plural, even though it's accepted in some dictionaries since it's now common use. Someone wiser than myself could probably elaborate on this.

The correct plural should be "octopodes" for the reasons you've given. The word comes from Greek "okto", eight, and "pous", feet.

Due to popular usage, however, "octopi" or "octopuses" are both acceptable and are arguably correct as well.

Well, I guess if they're influenced by Jars of Clay, then I'm cool with it.
