This is going to get rejected, but I honestly had the exact same idea. Somebody needed to do it.

I did too... Hmmm lets just say it's the members of the band that died of natural causes, instead of by 'accident'. They kicked him out.

Nope. Michael Jackson may have died from drugs. Where's the Kung Fu master?!

I really don't know if you could get away with wearing this, but it really does deserve a vote. Should have added an RIP Tour or maybe Lost Souls Tour or something.

He may have died from drugs. There's no positive answer yet so the shirt still works.

I don't believe Billy died of natural causes. He may have suffered trauma in a plane landing yesterday when it hit the tarmac too hard, popping one of the tires. Something supposedly hit him in the head. It's possible he had blunt force trauma that didn't show symptoms right away.

The Autopsy showed he died of heart disease.

"Rejected because: Celebrity likenesses. Also, extremly poor taste."

Yeah...I think it's really disrespectful to try to make quick buck off someone's death. Or, in this case, four people's death.

As everyone that understood has already pointed out this was a tribute, not a mockery. There was no ill will intended, there was no blood or zombie faces, no inappropriate poses. In fact 3 of the 4 are smiling and the main character was in a pose doing what he did best, entertaining.

Also if you could please as I am curious and spent a good 10 minutes looking, point me in the direction of the rule stating that celebrity likenesses are against the rules?

I wasn't commenting on whether it was a tribute or a mockery. I personally would just feel really bad making any kind of profit off someone's demise...and if this printed that's what would be made, a profit. I'm not assigning motives. Not to mention there will always be someone that perceives this as a mockery (THE JUNE 09ERS!...sorry but even the name can come across as making light of their death). I just wouldn't take the chance because there is always someone that will find this in bad taste and offensive and disrespectful to their families.

As far as the celebrity likeness, I wasn't commenting on that, although it's been known that any likeness will be rejected, and this probably would fall under this part of the Terms and Conditions found on the submission page:

13. Artist Representations. Artist represents and warrants that he/she has the right to enter into this Agreement, that the Artwork is original and has not been previously used commercially, and shall not infringe upon or violate any copyright, or any other personal or proprietary right of any kind of any third party. Artist indemnifies Woot, its officers, directors, employees, successors and assigns, against any and all losses, expenses (including attorney’s reasonable fees), or damages arising out of any breach of Artist’s warranties, representations, and obligations hereunder. This paragraph shall survive the expiration or termination of this Agreement for any reason.

Perhaps I'm a little overly sensitive. A very young friend of mine died in an accident Sunday, and I know that if his family and friends knew someone was trying to sell t-shirts with his picture on it, even if it was as a "tribute", it would be found offensive and distasteful and even hurtful to them. So I would imagine there will be people, myself included, that find this to be in poor taste. You can't deny that.

I'm not trying to be argumentative or anything and I hope this doesn't come across as such. I just want to explain why I find this to be distasteful.

Sorry to jump in here, but not true. Having worked with Billy as a freelance script supervisor on an Oxyclean infomercial, the man was kind, respectful and incredibly hard-working - all traits that are extremely unusual for talent on his level. He was concerned about what he was selling and being careful to not make claims that were not true.

As for "peddling apcray", how many products are on the market now that contain some form of Oxyclean? What about Orangeglo? Tons...and there's a reason why: the apcray works.

There are many things that you can say about Billy Mays (loud, annoying, whatever), but being a bad salesman is NOT one of them. Dude could sell heaters in the Sahara desert.

And the beard, while obviously over-manicured and colored, was most assuredly real.

Before leaving the set on the last day of shooting (a 19 hour day that started at 5:00am, no less), Billy made time to go around to all the behind-camera folks and thank them - every single one of us. Not many people would do that.

Personally, I didn't have a problem with this shirt, but that's just me.
