Re: Getting to Second Base

So here's my entry for the week. I hope everyone laughs at this one as much I have. Wear this shirt to let everyone know that you know what getting to second base is all about. Hehehe!

And here's how someone would look wearing the shirt. She digs it!

He does too!

I don't think I would have bought it, but still hilarious and thanks for the laugh! :D
Also, while I do think the rejection comment was a little harsh, when you consider that there are kid sizes available for Woot shirts now, they do need to be a little more kid-friendly. I mean, this is definitely not a shirt I would buy for a child, and you're probably a little disturbed if you would. Just the fact that someone might, would make me reject it as well.

Player of all. Master of none.

First of all, Woot doesn't sale just kid sizes. Comments like yours really makes me wish Woot didn't offer kid sizes. Woot only requires the designs to be PG-13. This is very PG-13. The Woot rejectionator is just a prude with no sense of humor.

I agree that kid sizes are one of the worst things to happen to woot ever (the quality level has plummeted even more than normal ever since) but this sort of thing would have been rejected anyway before kid sizes. The PG13 rule doesn't have any bearing on the MPAA or any other rating system. Most of the time it simply means "don't be a jerkass and give us some childish potty humor". And by that, the average interpretation of the rule by the mods, yours was clearly in its sites for being zapped

Just so you know, "pairs of objects on the chest" is often a rejection reason, especially when it is specifically meant to call attention to the boobs. The rejectionator's reason isn't particularly informative on that, but it came up a lot when I was new around here. I suppose it hasn't come up as often recently.

Yeah, because what you said in your post doesn't sound oogie in the slightest. I know if I went to church, I'd definitely want my church staff walking around in a shirt that alludes to boob grabbing.

I always try to take business advice from people who expressly state they have no interest in my product, don't you? Yup, people who have no interest in church - that is my target market.

Besides, who says one must wear the shirt at church? You think just because I work at church, I don't do other things? You sound like Ralph Wiggam describing Principal Skinner.

Why don't you go worry about the children or something and let the adults talk?

What I was saying, is that I would expect a "servant of the Lord" to have a bit more tact. That's fine though - hypocrisy runs rampant within religion, so I guess it just fits that at church you'd be a disciplined and well mannered individual but in your "outside activities" you'd be a sleazeball.

I have nothing wrong with the shirt. I wouldn't wear it, but I understand it as a joke shirt. What I had a problem with is the idea that someone who openly professes their association with the clergy is endorsing such raunchy humor, which many people could very well take offense to, especially considering your professional position.

And I thought the Christian way was to be kind and "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". So...I guess what you're saying is you wanted me to respond to you with a snarky comment, since that seems to be all you're putting out.

No adults are talking in a thread about two hands printed to look like they are grabbing your chest. Certainly not anyone defending it.

To the Woot Staff, Adder, Binkdrop, and others, this was indeed a joke shirt that is a little edgy/racy but that's what makes it funny.

On a side note, nobody's forcing the Woot community to vote for these types of designs. I mean my shirt was doing pretty well until it was rejected. And speaking of hypocracy, there's a serious hypocracy on the guidelines for rejecting shirts on this site when a shirt with a happy birthday candle stuck on top of poop and girl with bloody knife and severed head are allowed to stay in the contest while a shirt with strategically placed hands gets rejected. Get Real! Woot should allow the Woot community to vote and decide what they want. This would be better than rejecting a shirt and leaving a "snarky" remark which leaves the artist asking "W.T.F??"

So, mitchellp, by this logic, I can only judge whether a shirt design is good or bad if I myself am a shirt designer? Correction: If I myself am a shirt designer who submits entries to woot derbies?

That’s like saying you can only say a book is good or bad if you yourself are a writer, or whether a song is good if you’re a musician who writes your own music.

Oh snap. It makes so much sense now… I’m not qualified to judge anything! Looks like I have no other choice but to log out of my woot account and go play outside. Thanks for the heads up!

Oh ye of little wit, let me break it down for you. I said its "easy" to say what you said when you've never submitted anything. In other words, its easier to critique than it is to create. I hope you can grasp this concept, but I understand if you can't.

We all know how hard that failed! But there are two main differences. Firstly, the hands weren't grabbing anything. And secondly, and this is the important thing, I'm not exactly of the belief that the idea was a great one. It sucked, to be honest.

Trust me, I'm not going to ever say my work is great. Which is why you're so hilarious. Because you ARE saying yours is.

No, Adder I never said it was great. But its probably better than yours.

I was gonna do a design that revolved around the same premise, but as a rejectee many times over, I decided to not venture forward. I think the design is great and right on theme. I just love all the woot "experts" on here who are so quick to spew out woot guidelines and potential reasonings. As said before, severed heads and blood are permissable (not knocking you Draxxx, I think your illustrations are amazing) but insinuations are not. Seriously?? Oh, and I guess a satanic bunny rabbit is good too! Come on now...is there gonna be any sort of attempt at some consistency around here.

People have made "hands grabbing breasts" shirts a number of times. they have all been rejected.

CONSISTENCY!

Again, woot's PG13 rule isn't related to any other PG13 guide. It is basically a "grow up and don't post anything immature" rule.

Woot has already proven its PG13 rule doesn't apply to violence and gore. Nothing that could be filed under "ignorant frat boy imagery" has not been rejected. Except for Ramy's hamsters, but we all know Ramy has different rules than everyone else.

At least ignorant frat boy imagery is wearable by those of us who have both an X and Y chromosome. I don't think I could pull off bunny rabbits well.

Ignorant frat boy imagery is only wearable by people who have no modicum of taste. Hence the word "ignorant". T-shirt hell is a great source for all your "HA I AM SO EDGY AND NON PC, I AM THE GREATEST AND YOU ARE ALL cancellation" shirt needs. They even produce them to the appropriate quality standards.

I won't pretend I understand woot's PG13 rule inside and out. To me it would indeed include a severed head, but it clearly doesn't. What is true, however, is that this is something that consistently IS rejected. Complaining about it is not going to change anything.

Ahh, the difference between ignorant and just plain funny is a fine line. Who is to judge? Clearly there is a market for that, and who is anyone to say that it is an indication of someone who "has no modicum of taste." That is your opinion of that design. It is not for you, and you, as a mature person, can choose not to purchase and wear it. I guess in the same way how people on this site consistently want to purchase Ramy designs.

I've read the comments in this thread. The shirt designer has responded multiple times in an immature fashion. I'm sure this shirt/thread will generate a lot of strong words and heated arguments.

Personally, I find the shirt extremely offensive. Imagine if a female family member of yours, or your girlfriend, your wife or your female friend was wearing this shirt and got groped? This shirt actually encourages the wrong behavior.

Really?? First, the designer was just defending his design from Woot trolls like Adder.

Second, your comment about encouraging the wrong behavior. Really? Imagine if you're wearing Drakxxx's shirt with a severed head to a crime scene where somebody was chopped to pieces or imagine wearing the milk and cookies shirt to a lactose intolerance conferance. The world's a cruel place. Stuff happens all the time. I seriously doubt a shirt design would influence any of this. If something is gonna happen, it's gonna happen regardless of what shirt the victim is wearing.

Seriously?

You honestly are suggesting that wearing this T-shirt is going to lead to someone getting groped? Seriously? You don't understand the subtle distinction between an amusing T-shirt and sexual assault? WOW. Just. WOW.

As long as we are on the topic, how, precisely, does this shirt encourage ANYTHING other than a sophomoric chuckle?

For the record - I would be pissed off if my wife got groped by some whacko no matter what shirt she was wearing.
