Nice work MissLauraB. It's really weird going from pencil to 6 colors with no gradients, isn't it? :d I still struggle with that concept but you did I nice job with the colors you chose to represent shading. Keep up the good work and you get a *high five* for making the derbies a family event. :p

Miss Laura B,You had my vote even before I saw Josephus's comment. I like a lot and IMO this is the best of this particular duality theme.

When we got ready to post it, I was worried that people would think it was too much like ramy's design (in theme). but what can you do?

There is a vast difference between the two designs. This design took time and his design is Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966).

"If drinking is bitter, change yourself to wine." -Rainer Maria Rilke

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

"There are many ways to the recognition of truth; Burgundy is one of them." -Isak Dinesen

I really really love the wings! It is beautiful, my only complaint is her eyes. The style looks like it uses big eyes anyway, but in the sketch, her eyes looked more gentle, not scared wide-eyes. I also picture her with a possibly mischievous smile.

These are things we will probably work on before it gets submitted again. I agree totally.

Much better idea then 'good shoulder' 'bad shoulder'. I love it.

Very nice work! Though I'm sure you are already, you should be quite proud of your daughter's talent Mr. Josephus.

The shading and detail is very impressive, and this is a very interesting concept.

The wings look fantastic, but I think the perspective might be off on them in relation to the position of the character's body. Also, as others have mentioned, a more subtle look on the face may work better.

Again, very nice work Miss Laura B. Keep drawing and staying creative!
