This shirt is SO FULL OF WIN

I love this idea! It's so simple and clever. Great work;)

Doesn't matter, you can catch up easily with a good concept. This concept is great!
Love it...my son had a CD with this damn song on it and it nearly drove me insane...and I could NOT get it out of my head.
...of course, I'm not sure what mommies and babies are doing on a school bus.
Re: people on the bus
This is my toddler's favorite song. Is there a way to purchase it if it doesn't make it?
Re: people on the bus
MUST HAVE!
wootvan wrote:...of course, I'm not sure what mommies and babies are doing on a school bus.
And I'm pretty sure the last time you sang the song, you were on a school bus ;)

I would def order one

I work with young children. This shirt would be PERFECT for me. LOVE your idea!!
parrotworks wrote:That's the thing about these derbies..I tend to have my creative break through two days too late. Go figure.
It's doing pretty well for a later entry. Too bad you didn't get it in sooner.
Re: people on the bus
Please sell this even if it doesn't win... I'm a school teacher and what a great visual cue system for engaging kids to sing along with in class (or on the bus, off to a hike, or hanging around at home).
Another use for this shirt...
An enebriated college game could be developed with certain rules about how many verses you sing /guess right and what happens when you don't. dun know, I just went to a small school in State College, PA., so what do I know about this party stuff. hah hah

"Babies on the bus go "wah wah wah, wah wah wah, wah wah wah"......."
That's why the "Mama's on the bus say shh shh shh, shh shh shh, shh shh shh."
I MUST own this shirt!!!!!!
Re: people on the bus
I can't believe I need to ask this question after all those years of Mommie and Me...
What is the middle on the bottom row?
A thread (of a shirt that seems pretty popular) with all positive comments.

You think when they get angry about my shirt, they'll jump up and down?
Re: people on the bus
Ruling the hotness for a couple days may not necessarily get me to print but I do believe I've earned a moment to ramble.
First, what a ride! (pun intended)
A certain print would have been nice. But a true come-from-behind at a break-neck pace to a photo finish satisfies my inner adrenaline junkie. Last I checked, Vegas was giving me 1/19 odds.
Thank you all for your support. Many of us pop on and off the web with little thought. We as artists really have a unique opportunity here at woot to concentrate on the art, have an enormous artistical supportive community appreciate it and occasionally see it come to life in print without much personal hassle.
Quick fun aside: My daughter left for elementary school yesterday and wanted to know how she'd get updates on my woot. At least she hasn't spun it into getting a cell phone..yet.
Quick thank you to Brian who for months I blamed for putting me in this wootine. Now I guess I need to credit him.
Thanks again all.

wootvan wrote:...of course, I'm not sure what mommies and babies are doing on a school bus.
I kinda agree. This shirt doesn't seem to be the most on topic, but it is so awesome in every other way that it hardly matters to me.
I really enjoy seeing songs interpreted through icons, don't know why, it just appeals to my sense of humor, I guess.
This shirt rocks!
Wow. It took me a while to understand what was going on with this shirt but now I see. Pretty clever. Like the concept and how you executed it. I may buy one if it gets printed.

I think this one will be in first place. So, my person views can't really have any effect on this shirt.
Having said that, I really don't like it. Bad memories of bus rides, and junior high girls. That's it. If I were a 12 year old volleyball girl, I would be on this like white on rice.
I had to ride between one to one and a half hours each way to school. I did this for about 5 years. YUCKY, no thank you.
Another thing, it just so reminds my of shirt that you would find on Noisebot, or some other site, not really very creative. But then, what can I say, one of my hgihest scoring shirts took me like an hour and was totally playing to the Hitch-hickers guide... crowd.
So I am torn between really disliking the shirt, angry that others like it so much, confused on why it gained so much steam; and annoyed by the subject.
With like 2% jealousy in there; full disclosure and what-not.
I would buy three of these for my sons -- awesome!
parrotheads wrote:And I'm pretty sure the last time you sang the song, you were on a school bus ;)
I played my Game Boy on the school bus. I guess a Game Boy shirt would be on topic then? Personally I never sung this song and don't see what it has to do with the subject of school. Just because something is something you did as a kid doesn't mean it relates to school at all. Like if someone did a Three Blind Mice shirt in a derby about school. Totally off-topic.
Re: people on the bus
For those who are confused, the song is "The Wheels on the Bus" and the verses used here are:
- The wheels on the bus go round and round
- The people on the bus go up and down
- The driver on the bus says move on back
- The babies on the bus go whaa whaa whaa
- The mommies on the bus go shh shh shh
- The wipers on the bus go swish swish swish
All through the town...
At least, that is what I am seeing.
btw - I think this is pretty awesome. simple and clever.
I love this shirt. Finally a cool shirt that doesn't have some cutesy little creature. Hope you win!!

Such a cool shirt! I'm new to this and clicked on the "I'd want one" words - hope that means I voted for this! Also, do winners actually get shirts made that are then for sale on woot for sale?

Congratulations parrotworks for your shirt entering the fog. It was a late entry indeed but enough well wishers got your shirt that much closer to the finish line.
I'm going to scrounge up some change and see if I could afford yet another woot shirt.
Love it, love it, love it, will buy it.
But since there has yet to be a single negative thing said in this thread, I have to say this:
In the bottom middle, it looks more like the mom is picking her nose than saying "SSH!"
That is all
Looking forward to buying it!

While I'm happy for the derby winner, I'm very sad this shirt didn't win. This is a popular song in our household and I was all set to get up and order a few of these for us. Sigh. Hope it gets printed somehow.

I'm so torn on this. The PERFECT shirt idea, ruined with the babies and mommies. I don't think the modern lyrics even have mommies. The baby graphic is also, well, a bit too indistinct. It only falls in line once you're already singing the tune, and only because you can figure it out from the lyrics.
I've got a 17 month-old, and have been showing this around a baby club this morning. Pretty much universal on the above review.
Throwing in some of the odder lyrics (have some cake comes to mind) may have helped.
Anyway, if those two blocks were somehow "fixed", at least to be made much clearer as IMAGES (the mommies box, for example, has nothing "mommy about it", could just be anyone shushing...), then I'd buy a dozen. It's so exactly on the cusp of perfect, it's frustrating.
Re: people on the bus
Awesome. Please print it!

My daughter and I had really high hopes for this in the top 3 and I was in for 2, but I don't think it's going to happen.

This one definitely needs to be submitted for the next applicable derby. Be sure to message me when you re submit it.

not sure what you're talking about. the only version of this song that i knew had mommies and babies. i thought it was pretty clear and am eagerly waiting to buy one.

By placing in third place in the Derby does it become a 'classic' T now? I don't see a 'I want one' link on this page...

It was on sale on Aug.30th for $10 all day on this page but as you can see a new shirt is available for purchase today. The "People on the Bus" shirt, however, is still available to buy for $15 now at THIS LINK.
As for the "classics" question posted earlier, I believe only shirts counted as classics were printed a long while ago and they're only now bringing back a few to be re-printed. Shirts are sold here on the first day for $10, then sold for $15 in subsequent days. If a shirt drops in sales, it is put on the Reckoning List meaning it could potentially soon be out of print. If a shirt is reckoned, then I believe it is never printed again unless it comes back as a "classic".
If I'm wrong, someone come and correct me please.

Correct. And that goes for print ANYWHERE. The copyright terms of the derby contract say when it dies here, it is dead. Moral of the story: buy sooner than later. We have a friend who purchased for a teacher Christmas gift. Statistically, it'll be out of print soon, so I guess that makes sense.
WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED this shirt!!!!! I teach Pre-School AND two of my sons drive school busses to pay their way through college !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm BEGGGGGGGGGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sell me FIVE NOW!!!
