Very pretty Bink. I get a very nice Alphonse Mucha vibe from your illustration, which always works for me! Please have my vote.

Re: Mucha Ado About Nothing.

Props to my boyfriend for coming up with the clever title.

I had a friend once who really loved the artwork by Mucha so I decided that I'd do a piece in the same sort of style that he's known for. I didn't do the hair as he does his, but I did incorporate the geometric designs, and I tried to add a bit of a twist by combining some grunge with clean lines. My design is more specifically based off of this piece by Mucha.

Now for the minigame! The first person to private message me the correct product names of all 10 products - IN ORDER - provided in the picture below gets this little guy, Benny the Whale. Yes, he is indeed a blue whale. If you had trouble figuring that out, that's because he's the first whale I've ever made and I didn't really go off a pattern. Plus I'm still new at crocheting. If you win I WILL need your mailing address, so be sure to check your private messages please.

And here is the reference sheet for the products. I hope you guys have a hard time with them. I really, really do..for my sake. Benny took a long time to make.

First post stealer! :p I was busy typing up my first post and I saw you recognized the Mucha reference. : ) I had a friend who liked his work a lot so I thought I'd try something different and go with utilizing a bit of his style. Thanks for the compliment!

Ah, sorry about the first comment... I was hoping your game this week would be to indentify what style your illustration was influenced by, so I got excited and jumped the gun.

The style is very strong, and you've done a great job with it. Best of luck!

It looks great sweetie, I wish I were eligible for the game but I understand it wouldn't be fair for me to play since I helped find the images. I really like the flow of the hair. I might be blaspheming against Mucha but I like the way you did the hair compared to his stuff.

Good luck!

for being new, that's pretty good. i still can't go off patterns and make my own designs, plus there are so many things i want to do with patterns, guess i never had to yet.

I absolutely love the linework on this. It's so *clean*. And the profile is awesome.

Lastly of course, I love Mucha. And though you can tell this is inspired by Mucha, you've definitely put your own style into it. GMV

I don't think I'll ever have the patience to make anything like a blanket or afghan. Making hats takes sooooo much time that I've only made 2, and I've found that making these little amigurumi dudes is fun because I can add a personality and they take much less time than a hat! :p Crocheting is a pretty fun thing to do on the side, and it's always neat to run into another person who does it. Happy crocheting to you!

Thanks! :D I'm glad people are enjoying the games - they provide me with a bit of entertainment as well! Also thank you for the compliment on the design.

Thank you tons! Clean linework is always a huuuuuge compliment, so I really appreciate what you've said. I am also incredibly glad that you can see my own influences in the picture and that the "Mucha-style" hasn't overpowered the image. I wanted to include some of the things he's famous for, but keep true to how I like to draw, so thank you for noticing that.

Huge congrats to FunOnTheBun for getting all 10 products correct on Sep 5, 2009 at 4:29 PM.

For the very few of you out there who were curious what they were:
1. Bawls Energy Drink
2. Big Blue Cream Soda
3. Febreze
4. Aqua Globes (as seen on TV!)
5. Linksys
6. Head & Shoulders
7. Dawn Dish Soap
8. Secret Deodorant
9. Phillip's Laxative
10. Extenze. Makes a man larger. Supposedly.

my mother does blankets and i don't think i could, but she whips thru them in about a wk. she'd probably finish sooner if she just sat down and did it though without work getting in the way. i did some scarves for special olympics and after going through 13ish in just a few weeks, it'll have to snow here for me to do another one!

but yeah, i usually stick to animals myself cause, hey they're cute! i'm working on a bender doll, from futurama, right now.

maybe one day they'll be a crocheted designed shirt, wooooot!

Waaa! I love love love Mucha. He's totally one of my favorite guys. Great reference Her hair is absolutely beautiful. That's my favorite part. Perhaps it needs more swirls though or intricate pattern work in the background to take it that extra step.

Bink, you are one of my favorite designers. I really enjoy the additional work you put into your designs and the mini games that make them come alive. Plus my wife knits and loves your amigurumi offerings.

That's a mighty fine compliment you just paid me, so I'd like to return it with a huge THANK YOU! I do what I can to please the amigurumi Gods, by creating little creatures with which to fill their amigurumi worlds. Perhaps someday the Gods will smile upon me and grant me a speed boost at crocheting so it doesn't take so darn long for me to make those buggers! I'm so glad that both you and your wife enjoy the designs and the games. It's comments like these that keep me going with it all!
