The basic idea is to have the 'Kokoro' kanji right on top of the person's heart. Kokoro can mean heart, soul, mind, intelligence, center and core, thus the idea here was to have the rising sun as if emanating from within.

I like the idea. Not so sure about the person and the large shadow, but I like the idea. What if you took the person out? I don't think it's necessary.

Submitted a person-less design, I think it looks cool and each one has a very different effect. I dunno, I like the loner casting a shadow on the tee, but... yeah xD
