Re: Spirit of the Mountain Pass (Re-sub)

This is based on Yuki-Onna, a figure in Japanese folklore. She is said to be the ghost of a girl who perished in a snowy mountain pass. She appears to travelers as a tall, beautiful woman with long dark hair and pale skin, and she torments these travelers by leading them astray or freezing them to death with her icy breath. Despite her ephemeral beauty, her eyes strike fear into the hearts of mortals (so I covered them with her hair). The girl represents her outward beauty, while the dragon represents the cruel power within.

The Kanji now say "The Eternally Beautiful Woman" down the left and "Yuki-onna" down the right. Thanks to Mikan for all the help!! Hopefully everything is right now, ha ha.

Ahhhh awesome. I like the kanji on this one so much better than the other haha. It looks alot less forced this time around. Got my vote again!

Yay! Glad to see I could help. I like the gradient you added behind the dragon - it helps pop the design off the shirt more. Hopefully you can get your votes back! ^^

I've got to say that I like your "darker" designs better than the sweeter ones. The sweet ones are nice, but not something I'd typically wear. This one's got enough edge to be not completely cute, but it's got enough cute so that it's not frightening.

I just wrote that, but I'm not sure if it even makes sense. But yeah, I like this. And I like that there's a story behind it. Which is also something you seem to do a lot. You draw a story instead of just a picture, whether the story is existing folklore, or just something you made up.

So...I'm wondering why this isn't doing better. Because of the resub maybe? I really love it. I do have to admit that I'm curious how the white clouds would transfer when wearing it. It may give me a big ol' cloud belly! Maybe that's whats keeping it from moving up faster? I dunno. But I do really like this design. (and I even like the texture of the clouds, just wonder about the placement when wearing it)

I like that you put the halftones behind the dragon, it makes it feel like more a part of the design. But, the colors seem too saturated and solid, especially given that it's meant to represent a spirit. I like your style, though, and the idea is cool!
