I like the idea but this feels too much like a city park and a comment on urbanization than a national park design.

But if all the plants were gone then whatever was left would become a national park. The government isn't going to let one city has the whole thing for themselves.

It is a comment on urbanization tho.

I don't know, JewelWing, 1 tree doesn't say "National Park" for me. It says "City Park." For someone who is questioning other artists "on-topicness" in their entry threads, this seems to be riding the same line.

I was honestly trying to do something on topic and I made this design today for this specific derby. Maybe it's not coming across how I'd hoped it would, but at least my intentions were right.

Still, something with a tree, even if it's only one, is more on-topic than a picture of Mordor. I'm not going to say any more about the other one tho, because then I'll get into bashing someone else's work. That's not my game.

I would never buy or wear this because it makes me sad.. I think others might get this as well. :[

Makes me think of Silent Running, and I don't mean the Mike and the Mechanics song. GMV.

I did thing this was sad, but appropriate, because it's exactly where we are headed.

Sad. But also really good. While I think it straddles the line of the theme, I give the benefit of the doubt on designs that try to say something a little more than the quick lulz. You've GMV, JW.

Incidentally, I'm impressed that an asphalt entry in this derby actually works--great use of the shirt color.

Meh.

Good idea, well executed, but it doesn't lie well on a shirt at all.

IMHO it would be much more successful as a shirt design if the transparent and gray areas were reversed. This way the design would just 'float' on the shirt, instead of appearing to be bounded by a gray background with distractingly feathered edges. Just a suggestion.

I really like the idea and the drawing but I really REALLY do not like the green you chose.

I actually wrote a whole story about this for a comp class sophmore year college. Except my story had a park museum. Love the shirt.

As much as I DESPISE asphault shirts, you probably couldn't do it in any other color.

Maybe on any given derby I wouldn't vote for this, but considering it's the ONLY thing I'd consider wearing here... I'll vote it up.
