Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I like how you removed the shoe and added the stitch to the costume. I liked this a lot before, but I think you made it better. Good job.

Re: Saddest Ghost Ever

Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I have quiet literally been refreshing the derby page constantly in the hopes that I would come across this derby entry. I saw your original post of it in Shirt.Woot Blog for this derby, and I laughed (for hours).
Srsly.

Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I LOVE this one!!! GMV.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
Was afraid that you weren't going to submit this. Loved it in the prederby thread, and I like the changes you made. GMV
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
Oh man, I wasn't even sure this was going to be posted. I got home at 3am and thought I'd try one last time to submit it, and it seemed to work but then didn't show up, so I just went to bed. I'm so glad it worked.
Thanks for the great responses, A special thanks to the people on the forum who helped me kick up the sadness a notch.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
Something about this makes me eversohappy

Not to worry. When he grows up, he'll be able to hit the bottle to drown his sorrows.

Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
This is so wonderfully sad! I appreciate the work and detail involved in this. Thanks!

GMV!!
They were good suggestions.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I don't know why I like this so much, but I do.
Ikonos71 wrote:I don't know why I like this so much, but I do.
I'll accept that, thanks!
By the way, don't go see Pixar's UP and then look at this shirt, there's some dust in my eye now or something.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
So sad yet so cute. I'm in for one.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
Very nice illustration... out of all this common halloween mood....
If you get a chance look at mine: Monsters
Love this. While I shouldn't say it makes me smile, it does. It's too AWWWWWWW-inspiring not to. :D
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
Awwww. It was neat to watch this in the pre-derby thread get more and more depressing touches.
I also like the new placement, that extra long rain really pushes this higher on the sad-o-meter.

Hah, perhaps if I had made a shirt with a sad-o-meter it would get printed... It sounds too familiar though... can't put my finger on it.

Oh, so you mean every single shirt at Spencers?
Because woot would never print such a blitheringly overdone idea, right? ![]()
I love this shirt and wish it was getting more love :-/
MasterWolf wrote:I love this shirt and wish it was getting more love :-/
But then it wouldn't be sad :/
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
Perfect graphic, perfect placement.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
This design is beautifully sad, just like real life. I would totally buy one, and it would make a great lithograph IMHO.
dmkooo wrote:Perfect graphic, perfect placement.
I actually don't like the placement... I usually don't like it when the graphics starts all the way up and then ends by my waist.
With that said... I really like the illustration and gmv. This would be the first shirt I would buy with this kind of placement!

I want this one so bad.

Only 300+ more votes to go and it could be yours!

You shoulda had a cute kitten (or tiger cub) coming out of the pumpkin then you'd be getting the votes I bet! ![]()
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I still really love this...<3
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I love it, hope it inches up there and maybe grabs an EC if not. If you print it elsewhere, let us know please!
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I just love this and I want it! And I hope you'll post it elsewhere if it doesn't get higher here. ![]()

Me too! I really want this shirt.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
So he waits patiently for WEEKS for this night to come, he dresses in his best "gotta make it all by myself" homemade costume and the anticipation kills him as the 31st draws nearer and then ....BAM IT RAINS on Halloween night &he hass to spill the candy ta boot!!! we've all been there .... It's kinda a Charlie Brown moment isn't it.

My version included freezing cold, sleet and snow, and me getting major blisters on my feet because I was wearing someone else's shoes as part of the costume. I can still remember limping home and trying to decide whether it would be worse to take the shoes off or leave them on.
So yeah, I sympathize with this little fella. I'd buy it. And I'd probably wear it at other times of the year, just to remind me that it does get better.

I'm glad it reminds you of a moment in your life. Me too, for some reason I remember the bad Halloweens more.

I want it regardless of how it turns out in the Derby. Is there any way you could have it printed in the future? I'd definitely get one from ya for 10 or 15.

Indeed I'll let you know, thanks!
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
It's the saddest thing ever that this isn't higher on the ranks.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
Well that leaps into the vacuum, I really wanted to see this one print. Either way you made a great design for the given theme, and just in general!

Thanks for the excellent writeup. It brought me tears of joy... I think that was joy.
Re: Saddest Ghost Ever
I have to second the question: will this shirt be available anywhere else?
collapsinghrung wrote:I have to second the question: will this shirt be available anywhere else?
It will be up for voting again in this week's upcoming derby.
