That shading and border is off the hook!
Re: Nose Hares
That's an amazing illustration. wow

HA HA HA HA, I would so buy this and then people would hit me. I love the illustration on this. GMV.

hahaha oh, nice one man, nice one!!

Re: Nose Hares
This is one of the most beautiful (haha, aside from the fact that it's about nose hares) and well executed pieces I've seen lately. Those 'pencil' strokes are fantasmal. Did I mention I have a VERY soft spot for old-style(those strokes!!) artwork? Not to mention, I'm in love with portraits adorned in gold frames. You just hit all the right spots with me here!
Re: Nose Hares
Who are you, where did you come from, and where can I sign up for your newsletter? You are far too good for this derby.
DianaSprinkle wrote:HA HA HA HA, I would so buy this and then people would hit me. I love the illustration on this. GMV.
HAHA agreed. I would definitely buy this, even if it were only to get that confused, disgusted, and secretly amused look from everyone. And yeah, maybe I would get hit. But it would be worth it. This is so hilarious. Well played. It would not be nearly as funny if it were more modern looking - the old victorian style with the frame is perfect. I wish I had more than one vote to give!
Re: Nose Hares
Hahaha, that's so sweet. +1
Re: Nose Hares
Awesome. Great work as usual.
Re: Nose Hares
Holy cannoli. This is magnificent.
Re: Nose Hares
Agreed! An amazing illustration!
Re: Nose Hares
I am very glad to see you back here DS. Please stick around.

This has both style and class. Consider your self voted upon good sire.
Re: Nose Hares
*SNORT...yet another entry I am glad I did not have coffee in my mouth...
well done GMV!
Re: Nose Hares
.... this just reminded me to trim when I get home tonight!
It's like a PSA shirt...
Re: Nose Hares
ROFL. Laughed when I saw this -- absolutely fantastic. Also, as others have stated many times, your art is amazing! Do you have a link to your portfolio? It'd be cool to see your other work too~
Awesome work, love the quality as others have already stated in the design and it also made me laugh. GMV
Re: Nose Hares
Disturbing, but still like it.
Re: Nose Hares
What an amazing design! Wow...I don't love the subject but I do love the art.
Tanapangarap wrote:Disturbing, but still like it.
The hares look waaaaaaaaay too happy =) Man, I love this shirt. So glad it's climbing so fast! Makes me giggle everytime
Re: Nose Hares
A great laugh. Thank you.
Re: Nose Hares
I am proud to state that I was one of the first handful of votes on this. It's a thing of beauty.
If this doesn't print because of some resubbed scaffolding, I will be most displeased.
Re: Nose Hares
wow - VERY nicely done!!!
Re: Nose Hares
Fantastic illustration! I'm seriously impressed by the art, but personally, I'd like it better in a book than on my chest... <_<
Re: Nose Hares
can't stop laughing at this one... especially the bunny on the left... WAY too happy
Re: Nose Hares
On the nose. Lovely!
Re: Nose Hares
Ruddy masterful illustration! The rabbits in the frame are a wonderful touch!
I love it! It's a damn shame you can't put his name at the bottom of the frame . . . although maybe that would make it too jokey.
taninniver wrote:Fantastic illustration! I'm seriously impressed by the art, but personally, I'd like it better in a book than on my chest... <_<
But but, then they'd be chest hares!

i would like to thank everyone for ther kind words and support. i cant take all the credit for this design, thetrizinator was the one who came up with the brilliant idea. give her the credit, she is the creative one
thanks again to everyone who has voted!
Re: Nose Hares
I really love this but wish the design was a little bit bigger. GMV anyhow.
Re: Nose Hares
I laughed aloud. This is so well done. Touche.
If the rabbits were Peeps
you could call it "Nose Candy" as well.
Great work!
Re: Nose Hares
OK, this is a great illustration. I love it. I want it printed on my money. I don't think I'd wear it, though. Seems odd for a shirt. And I have to reiterate: this is really, REALLY well done illustration and I love it to pieces. <3
Re: Nose Hares
maybe the best shirt ever conceived i just wish text was allowed with his name on there.
Re: Nose Hares
Welcome back, this is firing Rocket Number 9 hilarious and so well drawn.

Yeah and it's plucking gross, i'd never wear this shirt. Just because it is drawn very well doesn't mean it's a good idea or that the execution is sound.
whalen25 wrote:Yeah and it's plucking gross, i'd never wear this shirt. Just because it is drawn very well doesn't mean it's a good idea or that the execution is sound.
I think it will be more appropriate printed elsewhere. Maybe on a bookmark or something. For a shirt it is a bold one and not everyone is ready to wear it out.
But truly, stunning, fabulous illustration skill. And tons of effort, too! I salute you!

Cabbage Patch Elvis, pull those pie-eyed bunnies outta yo' ass.

Agreed. It is odd for a shirt. Extremely odd. Really a little disturbing... I think that's what I like about it =) ha, when I think about what people's reactions might be to this crazy shirt, it just makes me want it.
Same feelings I had for Bass's "I'm in your kitteh!" in the last derby, and DRAIKE's "Saint Bernard" in this one :P

Re: Nose Hares
I could see this as part of a series of portraits in a really kooky kids book. I can picture the whole layout of the book, and even the texture of the pages.
A series of 10 or 12 very odd portraits of very odd ancestors, being described by a child of perhaps... 5 to a visiting friend.
Anyhow- just this thought I keep coming back to every time I see this one!
It is absolutely wonderful art- but I just couldn't wear it on a shirt. But, would LOVE it on the shelf, with the other wonderful children's books I have there.
whalen25 wrote:Yeah and it's plucking gross, i'd never wear this shirt. Just because it is drawn very well doesn't mean it's a good idea or that the execution is sound.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Exactly what I'm talking about. So excited to confuse and disgust...
Re: Nose Hares
You've severely improved in your absence.
Though I have to say I won't be surprised if the audience that loves well-drawn pieces is quite a bit larger than the audience that would wear a piece all about things stuffed up noses.
Re: Nose Hares
Wow, this is a stellar illustration. Every piece of this is artfully done! Bravo for your amazing time spent on this, and it's hilarious to boot!
Re: Nose Hares
the "eeeeeeww" is what makes this great!
Gorgeous artwork DS! GMV.
MOST AMAZING SHIRT EVER! DS you are so flippin good it freaks me out! I would wear this shirt in a heart beat! If you print count me in for one! great job.
Re: Nose Hares
I know it's been said, but I'll say it again. This is drawn really REALLY well. Definitely wouldn't wear it though, haha. I agree with what someone else said about it fitting into some children's book. You've got some crazy skills indeed. I especially love the border.
Re: Nose Hares
I ewwwweed and wowwwed at the same time. Nice job!;)
Re: Nose Hares
I love this style, and the artwork is superb.
Re: Nose Hares
Wow, it seems you've picked the wrong crowd to sell a hilarious shirt to...
Come on, people! Finally a shirt that's a real hoot, and you wimps start pulling the not-on-a-shirt card?!
I can believe this site. It's become a place where mediocrity is celebrated. The Lord forbid you actually submit something that isn't cutesy chibi animals or grim reapers and have a chance. This shirt is gold. Incredible artwork, very-much-so on theme, and hilarious in a way that isn't "ahh, cute" for once.
You want a Target shirt? Go to Target. I came to Woot to get THESE kind of shirts.
Re: Nose Hares
Fantastic!
Re: Nose Hares
I love your unique art style, and the thought is well illustrated and easy to figure out. Great shirt!
Re: Nose Hares
This is so well illustrated, and I love the grossness factor. Such a dignified man, such a yucky affliction.
Re: Nose Hares
As gross as this is, it is still better than the medioity of the assault, box turtle, and computer mice shirts. all three of those blow massive KOK!
Re: Nose Hares
excellent.
it will be a shame if this does not print this week.
Re: Nose Hares
Awesome illustration and best shirt so far this derby, at least for me. GMV and I hope this can gain ground and push up into the fog.
Re: Nose Hares
This is spectacular, I would wear this everyday if I could.
ohhh i hope this gets made. i would buy it and wear it with pride.
Re: Nose Hares
Oh my!!!
I want this!!! I haven't spent money here in a while, but I will for your style!!!!

I think the execution here is plenty sound, and there's no questioning the quality of the artwork; it's a matter of taste, really. I like this design. It's completely absurd. It's gross, but damn if the guy in the picture is doing his best to look dignified. It adds up to a hilarious image that I'd probably wear.
Re: Nose Hares
Best art on a shirt I've seen in a really long time.
I would totally buy this! great art and i love the expression on everyone's faces!
Re: Nose Hares
come on people, vote for this. its in 5th, just a few more votes and its in the fog and you have a chance at buying a shirt that will make heads turn!
banzaaiii wrote:come on people, vote for this. its in 5th, just a few more votes and its in the fog and you have a chance at buying a shirt that will make heads turn!
yeah, this should really be in the fog. one of the best this week. wish i could vote more than once!

gmv! Really clever, hope i get the chance to buy!

get your act together wooters, vote for this one (and sperm whales make great seamen. i would say tyranosaurus wrecks too, but ive given up hope for that one).
i cant believe there is not one design in the fog i would buy, but 3-4 outside of it. if only one would get in the fog i would be content

I would happily display these hares on my chest just to see the reaction.
Sadly though, I think Adder hit the nail rather eloquently on the head.

i agree too. worst thing is the ones in the fog are getting more and more votes. i have a feeling i will get very disappointed the day this derby ends
Re: Nose Hares
This is seriously fscking hilarious, but I would never wear this on my chest LOL
Muntoe wrote:This is seriously fscking hilarious, but I would never wear this on my chest LOL
thats an oxymoron imo
Re: Nose Hares
Hilarious concept and incredible illustration. A shirt of this caliber would be such a refreshing change to shirtwoot's catalog of designs.
Re: Nose Hares
This is both brillig and frubious, and I would buy it in a heart-flutter.
Exquisite work, and GMV.
Re: Nose Hares
let's hope they don't multiply! excellent illustration and hilarious.
This would be a nice change from the beady black eye overlords we are currently serving.
Re: Nose Hares
I really hope the detail isn't too small to print. This would be my favorite Woot! shirt of all, and I own a lot.
banzaaiii wrote:thats an oxymoron imo
Your opinion doesn't matter when it comes to oxymorons. They have a specific definition and what the commenter said was not one.
Re: Nose Hares
Well, the VW Beetles got rejected, so this one is one notch higher. I hope it makes it, but I have the feeling we'll end up with cutesy turtles, chickens, and mice.
tcanning wrote:Well, the VW Beetles got rejected, so this one is one notch higher. I hope it makes it, but I have the feeling we'll end up with cutesy turtles, chickens, and mice.
A trifecta of beady, dead-eyed critters? Say it ain't so!!
kylemittskus wrote:Your opinion doesn't matter when it comes to oxymorons. They have a specific definition and what the commenter said was not one.
... arent you a smartypants... fine its not a statement with two conflicting words right after one another, but in terms of literary effect it is an oxymoron. if something is funny, then it should be worn on a shirt imo. so for me, yes even in my opinion, it is oxymoronic. a funny unwearable shirt is an oxymoron i think, but others may not choose their shirts based on humor, so for them its not an oxymoron. i hope that clears things up, and i was a fool for not elaborating more here on the internet. but good to see you felt commenting on that was important, and hopefully any other people unsatisfied with the poor execution of my previous comment now feel more complete as persons
Re: Nose Hares
Ewwww...but kind of funny! Would that make nose-hair trimmers animal cruelty?
This is an awesome design! The pun is great! I voted for it the instant I saw it. I hope it makes it into the fog. I'd hate having to wait around until the next second chance derby to get one.

Re: Nose Hares
Wow that is an incredible drawing, and super funny. Looks fantastic!

Not sure why this isn't in the fog, I absolutely love it. Was it something you already had drawn up and if so how long did it take to complete?

I voted for this just out of principle.

actually no. i started this thursday night after my friend came up with the pun. i finished it friday afternoon. thanks for the compliments!
I'm not easily offended but i am SO offended that this isnt in the fog. It's clever, executed beautifully, and cute in it's own way. I thought that was the formula....?
capedcrusader514 wrote:I'm not easily offended but i am SO offended that this isnt in the fog. It's clever, executed beautifully, and cute in it's own way. I thought that was the formula....?
The only solace I take in this not being in the fog is that I am almost certain it will print during the double-take, either as a voted design or an EC. That is, assuming it gets an HM. But why the heck wouldn't it?
capedcrusader514 wrote:I'm not easily offended but i am SO offended that this isnt in the fog. It's clever, executed beautifully, and cute in it's own way. I thought that was the formula....?
I met with a big group of people last night who are all voters here. They all agreed that this was a wonderful piece of art, but none of them wanted to 'wear' it :\. I think there's something about it that is a turn-off to some people as an actual shirt to wear around, as they fear it may offend people. It is a stellar illustration though, hands down the nicest actual art piece this derby.

See, that's one of the things I like so much about it... I really want to see the reactions of my friends and co-workers while I wear this. I think it would make any day fun. Although they might catch me in the restroom, laughing at my own reflection. But that's ok =)

this is how i feel too. how anyone can "take offense" cause of a shirt like this i do not understand. even my grandmother would find this funny and also well made.

Bingo. This design is ridiculous and hilarious, and infinitely more wearable than the majority of derby winners.
jmmbell1987 wrote:Bingo. This design is ridiculous and hilarious, and infinitely more wearable than the majority of derby winners.
The question of "wearability" is disputable... I mean, I can see where someone would say that this is an odd design to wear on a shirt. And that's one of the things I like most about it. But despite what people say about the wearability, it deserves votes based on pure artistic talent. And when you think about it, this shirt is going to spread so much more happiness and laughter than a lot of other shirts in this derby.
So spread the joy, everyone! Vote for this beauty =P

To be fair, my tastes lean more toward odd designs like this one, so I might not be one to talk. However, I think people who are concerned as to how shirts like this will be received by others will be surprised. I trotted out "I Just Called" the other day to much amusement from my friends. "The Walrus and the High-Wheeler" always gets compliments and laughs. Odd, clever designs are awesome!

Agreed =) I regret not buying Edgar's "Air" when I had the chance, I bet that one would provoke a lot of comments, too. The truly odd shirts do not last long enough here =(
Re: Nose Hares
Perfectly on theme. Amazing illustration. Great humor. This is exactly the kind of thing I come here for.
I'm losing hope for this getting into the fog, but if this doesn't get an HM, it would be a travesty.
Re: Nose Hares
Print, I tell you!!!!! PPRRIINNNTTTT!!!!
It burns my soul to not see this in the fog. Good luck getting printed in the future!
Damn fine job!

I agree, this is awesome. If it doesn't make it, can you tell us if it gets printed elsewhere after the hold period?

I'd be all about wearing it - it's a great conversation starter, and the rabbits are so happy and cute they totally counter the gross factor.

Arrrgh! I'm grumpy that box turtles is in the fog and might print over this! Turtles are fine or whatevs, but this was so much better in pretty much every way. Sad panda.
