Birding

A quickie before the weekend hits and I'm officially birded out.

I like the simplicity and elegance. It's got such a calm feel to it.

If not, still a cool design!

I have no idea what that is, but thanks.

I actually think I have a much better take on this, if only I wasn't so unmotivated...

If this is a MOTHER 3 reference, it's not allowed. ;) shhh!

I like the simplicity of it.

Your designs always make such wonderful use of the space.
I also really love how different your designs are week to week, and within the individual derbies.

I love this!

It would go great with my Sky Fishing by patrickspens. It's like his shirt in reverse. :D

I think it'd be pretty obvious that this was not intended as, nor could it be easily mistaken for, a Mother 3 reference. But then again, Woot has enforced that clause in sillier ways before...

The simplicity is very nice with this one. I never would have thought of something like this. My favorite of the two by far.

I think the thumb doesn't begin to do this justice. It's simple and that's been a big thing for me lately: cool simplicity with minimal colors.

I could be very wrong but given that Mother 3 was only released in Japan, I find it highly unlikely that Travis is the type to import niche JRPG's and play along with a fan translation. Again, I could be wrong.

Re: Birding

Thanks for the good response on this one! I was actually going to do a funny/cute version with a cat instead of a human, but then I threw my back out this morning and have literally been lying in one spot all day until now. That's ok though, because I stink at drawing cats anyway. If anyone with a working spine and some free time want to take a crack at it you're more than welcome.

Sorry to hear about your back troubles. I hope you're doing better. I have a muscle disorder that causes me a lot of pain, esp doing art :\.

This entry is very cool, it's simple and very clever! Less is more sometimes :D

Great work on this one Travis. Reminds me of your sky harvester design, though this one has a cleaner feel. I like it.

I thought the same thing (mostly because of the simplicity and the colors)... sky harvester is still one of my favorites that didn't print.

Very pretty, clean design.

Vote!

I'm always impressed as tgentry takes mundane subjects and finds a surprising way to present them.

This is my new favorite shirt design. I love that you don't even have to change the bait to get birds. And the birdcage maintains the serene feel; he's just catching a pet, not a meal. I really enjoy how you switch up your style so much, tgentry. With all those great ideas and different approaches, your shirt portfolio is something like a comic book without words or an entertaining art collection. I'd buy that book.

Very surreal. I love it.
It's a shame it will never print. :/
Do artists often take their shirts else where?

Yes, the use of a worm is delightful. This is charming!

Again, I fully agree. Several of the best artists here are so versatile in their styles and moods - it makes a mere mortal's head spin.
