Google Search World Map

No, I did not trace that image. But any reference point will look exactly the same since they are the Continents of the world. Was I supposed to add a extra Country that did not exist so that it looks different? I think this is scaffolding and should not have been rejected.

I agree. Many maps looks similar, and your map has some distinct difference from the example they gave. For one thing the Gulf of Mexico definitely look obviously different to me.

Wow... Woot's rejectionator is being a total nitwit. Alaska is done completely different than the image they showed. The Woot Rejectionator must be PMS'ing

It probably would work better (as in, not get rejected) if you showed a land mass without trying to show the entire world. People will get it based on the green radial line and circles, and really, whose radar has that much range anyway?

Re: Radar

The rejector obviously failed at his job. the "traced" image looks nothing like the source. also, dont all maps look the same, so there for, no maps can be used?

They're definitely different. Just look at the top of Russia-- on the shirt, it's a straight line; on the supposed reference, it's distinctly curved.

I'd say, first, a map ought to be fair game (what, you're supposed to do original cartography to get a different map from everyone else?) and even if they're not, this isn't traced from the "reference" given. Un-reject the shirt!

Re: Radar

I can't say I agree with the rationale behind this rejection. Every carefully drawn map will look virtually identical to every other map of the same projection. A map is a map is a map.

Re: Radar

Yeah, I really don't care for the shirt (I think there could be more creative things done with RADAR, or just a less vanilla RADAR scan + whole world) but they are all correct: 1) its a map - very general at that - of the world, it is of course going to compare to other maps. 2) it has many differences to the one in the link. That one is so obscure as well, I hope someone was not able to copyright it.

Re: Radar

Well, one way to get around it would be to add Antarctica to the map. That should help clear things up.

Re: Radar

*scratching head after looking at the image it was supposedly traced from* Are they blind?! All one has to do is look at eastern Russia and you can see it's different.

Re: Radar

Seriously? Maps are too similar to each other now? It would be one thing if he'd used a map of Middle Earth, or the Forgotten Realms or something, but this is a map of the planet we live on. As far as I'm aware that can't be copyrighted or otherwise protected in a fashion that makes this make sense. A map is a map damn it. And if this was traced, it most certainly was not from the linked source. Learn to see please.
