definitely didn't see that before... but hopefully it won't matter. there's a lot of shirts out there about sliced bread, but I think mine is quite different. different text. different joke. etc...

Dude, no one has a monopoly on sliced bread jokes. This joke is a totally different joke, it just happens to be about the same cliche.

This is hilarious! I'll have to buy one if it prints. The distressing is a little too fake looking though, maybe keep that in mind if you ever make another distressed design.

I really like the "Oven-Fresh" part. Marketers have to put a lot more effort into lying these days.

That's true, but that wasn't Jestik's point. Woot specifically avoids printing shirts that are similar to shirts they've already printed. Had that shirt been from another site, there'd be no issue, but since it was a shirt.woot shirt, it's called into question. Whether this is similar enough will be determined by the Rejectorator.

this is true. (and thanks).

and it's too bad if it does get rejected, because it's ultimately much better than the original one they already printed

So much better than the other one. It's pretty funny and really authentic looking too.

Thirded. And it would be an absolute SCANDAL for woot to reject this based on similarity, b/c, aside from being much funnier, much cooler looking and more visually interesting, it's just clearly a whole different kind of shirt.

Re: sliced bread

I am always talking about something being better than sliced bread. This shirt is a must have. I especially like the circles in the background. It gives it a wonder bread feel that makes it more authentic. It made me giggle pretty hard.

Love the concept, but "retro" or "vintage" doesn't mean "destroyed." A little distressing would have been fine, but the distressing is way over done, IMO.

This is so hilarious! Best shirt of the derby for sure.

Edit: Doh, i'm new here. Referring to Sliced bread entry.

Re: sliced bread

Every single time I've looked at woot this derby, I feel a compulsive need to comment on how much I like this shirt. I need this shirt. It cracks me up so much. I don't know why. But I love it. It's just too funny. And it's so bright and colorful.

If that was really true then we wouldn't have to suffer through so many bunny and Mario shirts!

It hasn't been rejected yet, but woot has been known to stop the presses and not print a #1 shirt. I am betting that since the brown shirt (which was from the Inventions Derby almost 2 years ago) is no longer for sale, and since this one is in the fog, they will it this stay.

Re: sliced bread

thanks again for all the votes this week! I know not everyone was crazy about the distressing... but I kind of had fun destroying my design after it was done. perhaps a little too much

By the way... thx woot! - this was my favorite theme in a long time. really produced some great designs

I looked at this entry a few days ago, and I loved it. Then I came back today, and I felt the strong urge to comment, just to show my support. There were a lot of entries that I loved in this derby, but this is by far my favorite.
If I'd bought a shirt here before, I'd vote for it. But I haven't, and that makes me a bit sad. :[

The only think missing from this derby is a rubber duck design. <3

I wouldn't worry about it. Mine will look distressed for real before long given how often I will wear it.

Perhaps in the next 72 hours you will be able to change that whole "haven't bought a shirt before" part, and will have no future voting issues.
