You guys earlier were the test market, and I've decided to release The House of Madness in RED. It pops like all anything as it was suggested, so thanks very much for the suggestion.
I get a lot of my inspiration from the 70's and 80's Grindhouse era of films, so I was instantly motivated by the theme to pay homage to (in my opinion) the most kick ass time for the horror genre.
Some of you guys might remember 'The House of Madness" when I submitted it over at Designs By Humans some time ago.
I've reworked the illustration with different colors, and added in the film effects to make it look like a special promotion item for the film. I think it looks even better than my original DBH submission.
The motivation of this piece, as I mentioned over there, was the absolutely awesome artwork that was created for Grindhouse era film posters. I thought it would be cool to bring the House of Madness back for this contest, and coupled with the still in progress, but nearing completion thanks to Mr. CrescentDebris (we temporarily ran out of funds from the film studio) "Zombie Doom Squad" make the 2 designs a special "DRAK DOUBLE FEATURE."
I've had (and am still having, since Zombie Doom Squad is still in production) a boatload of fun with these designs, and I hope you guys, especially the genre fans get a kick out of them.
Thanks as always, and here's the poster:

Dark and yet so beautiful. The flow is amazing.
If someone saw this on the street, they would have no idea that it was not a real movie shirt.

I remember seeing this shirt somewhere else (though I can't recall what site it was exactly), so it's nice to see it here too, because it's really well done. The composition on this is just amazing. And damn, do I envy your skills at drawing skulls, you do such a good job.

Same. These two are some of the best designs I've ever seen, and I will definitely purchase both if they are made. How about, since it's a "double feature, Woot takes one day, puts whichever design finishes higher and then has an option to purchase the other with it at another $10? That would be epic.

Indeed. It'd feel incomplete to get one without the other.

Draxxx . . . words cannot describe it. Colorful, poppin', vintage, yet very dark (in the movie, scary, eyes-glued-to-the-TV in suspense feel). Well done. GMV fo-sho.

If I does happen, it shall be one of the greatest days in woot shirt history for some of us, but lets face the facts fellas. It would be nothing short of a t-shirt miracle to see either one of the designs make the top 3.
This week the ham-fisted, simply executed slogan based shirts are going to take the lead.
Mind blowing work on both designs this week Drak. The concept is incredible, and the execution is fantastic.

Well if they take all the votes between the two and combine them, the double feature is probably winning easily. Besides, they could conceivably just say "fry democracy, these kick ass we're running them."
Also, maybe I just have a very fake-vintage-y style, but I find that I'd actually wear a lot of the shirt designs this time...run this for two weeks instead of one?

I love 'em both, but I think this is the better design and I'm stunned it's not doing as well. It definitely has that grindhouse feel, but it's also haunting and (dare I say it) kind of pretty in a scary way. "Zombie Doom Squad" is also awesome, however.

overeating much favored grits!!! Drakxxx, I've commented on both shirts before, but the double-feature comp just blows my mind. Could you do both - Zombie Death Squad with the House of Madness as the lead-in? Then publish both someplace for us to grab them as posters? Lol! No, I know it's not realistic, but damn! Too good, and too reminiscent of my day watching every blood-drenched movie released to the drive-ins. (No, NOT Grindhouse - we didn't have a name for it then.)
