Part 2 of my GRINDHOUSE DOUBLE FEATURE is "ZOMBIE DOOM SQUAD" (Yes, it must be typed in all caps for effect.)
This film features the spirited screen debut of linebacker Arney Jackson as DOOM SQUAD member "MINT CHIP", who dishes out 31 flavors of pain! Can zombies feel pain? IT DOESN'T MATTER! They will eat it and like it.

The always awesome Mr. CrescentDebris did the colors and some lineart tweaks on this one, and really brought my inital illustration to the level of dirty grindhouse camp I was going for with the design.

The other feature in this double billing is the "The House of Madness", which is "The Most Terrifying Tale Ever Told".
Please check that one out as well if you have a chance here:
http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=40001

Oh, heres the poster!:

And here a link to a larger image to see the details:

Thanks as always guys.

I like the illustration. I wish there was more distressing in the image overall, that might help it age it a little.

I kinda wish the cinema billboard was on these shirts. It looks so great as well. I realize it would crowd the design but it's too bad they can't print it on the back or something.

I´ve allways been a fan of your drawing style, but I must admit that sometimes I think you tend to repeat youself too much in terms of composition and style. This time, however, I think you´ve done a great job with both your entries. It´s without a doubt a Drakxxx design, but fresh in terms of colour scheme, and different enough from your last entries.

Woot.com would really be missing out if they don't sell both shirts together. Since they were created as a double feature, it would be excellent if they are sold that way. I'd definitely buy both!

everyone hypes up zombieland. sure it was a fun watch the first time around, and given that i have a zombie section in my dvd collection, i was obligated to buy it. but as a zombie movie, its really sub-par. the movie itself was more commentary on the zombie genre and subculture. now the 1990s night of the living dead, now theres a zombie movie. dead snow was also quite terrible. but i dont know, maybe thats what people are looking for in a zombie movie.

I wish they would go ahead and make the next installment in the 28 days later series... I liked the first one, the second was okay, but It was a great set up for Global battle.

i actually wasn't overly impressed by zombieland. take away woody & the "big cameo", and you're basically left with a flashy teenage zomcom. the whole rules thing became somewhat amusing considering how idiotic some of the choices they made were. i don't expect spock logic in a goofy zombie movie, but some of it was just too illogical for me to get into it properly.

dead snow on the other hand, i quite enjoyed. considering the low budget, i thought it did a good job of capturing the splatstick spirit of flicks like evil dead 2 & dead alive. it's obviously not on that level, but i think they came closer to realizing what they were aiming for than zombieland did. probably helped to watch it with subtitles, too. unless they're unintentionally hilarious, dubbed movies pain me to no end.

tomatos, tomatoes, though, i guess. personally, i prefer my zombies vintage. ya just can't beat the classics. Romero. Fulci. and now Drakdebris.

I liked zombieland for what it was. It's nowhere close to being the best zombie movie ever, but it's something that I can have on in the background while I'm working and enjoy some of the comedy. I didn't go in expecting Shaun of the Dead, so I wasn't too disappointed in it being a teen comedy type of movie.

oh, it's definitely worth watching & i don't disagree with any of that. woody & the cameo made it for me. i just wish it had been just a wee bit smarter. probably the same way my parents feel about me

Oh they'll play it man.

That is freakin' AWESOME.

It sucked that we lost Rudy Ray Moore, and Julius Carry (Sho'Nuff of Last Dragon fame) the same year.

Also, I thought Zombieland was ok for what it was, but the Superbad esque stylings of it took center stage a bit to much, especially in the middle. I did think it was pretty fun, especially the cameo

Dead Snow was pretty amusing to. The ending was hilariously ridiculous.

Has anyone seen the remake of "The Crazies" that opened Friday? I wasn't the biggest fan of Romero's original, so I think I might be able to have a good time with it. (Unlike the Dawn of The Dead remake, which was an OK zombie flick, if it wasn't modeled after such a classic.)

Wasn't that right around when Isaac Hayes died too? I still am kicking myself that I missed my chance to meet Rudy Ray Moore a few years back at Comic Con.

Not enough zombies, but still watchable and interesting. I wouldn't see it again but I don't regret it.

When Drakxxx hits a home run with his illustration style the result is usually something very special. This one, though, just doesn't do it for me. Many of his submissions are very similar to each other. It would be nice to see Drakxx attempt something outside of his comfort zone.

Thanks, no one I know cared to see it, and I REALLY need to see Shutter Island before anything. I think I'll give it a go if I'm in the theater going mood. I agree your statement of it not having enough zombies is turning me off a bit, but it's not a make or break for me.

Thanks for the feedback. My style winds up coming through very strong in pretty much all I do, I realize that, but I figure it's part of what makes me a potentially recognizable artist. I'm never against trying new things and ideas, but for the most part I do what I enjoy and can place my integrity and interest in fully.

thats the same dilemma i had when i went to see shutter island last friday. i am quite interested to see the crazies, but i still made the right decision. i loved shutter island. i find that when it comes to scorcese, critics dont know what the hell theyre talking about.
