I like the design but this was submitted on Threadless which is against woot rules.

Re: The Lady who Lives in the Woods (resub)

I like this shirt too, but if theres a problem, why not make the whale white and put his teeth on his lower jaw to change it...(Sperm whales have 24-30 teeth on each side of their lower jaw and none on the top. I learned that this week...) The shirt is very effective and might be even more popular with a white whale. I really like it though!

Actually, it's not against the rules because it was never produced and distributed. As long as a shirts never been printed elswhere, almost all the contest sites allow resubs from other sites including Woot.

Nope. Legally, probably none of the sites allow simultaneous entries. They're looking for the exclusive ability to print for a short time (most sites 90 days, Woot is 60). Threadless doesn't seem to pay too much attention to subs in other locales but Woot will reject this.

But threadless' terms of submission, say that regardless of whether or not they print it you surrender all rights to your design. Unlike woot they do not have a 60 days and you get your design back policy.

Not that either. From Threadless:

In addition, by submitting your Design, you may not reproduce, sell, or submit the Design to others for any commercial purpose for ninety (90) days after the date of submission while the Design is being evaluated by Threadless.com. Once the ninety (90) days have passed, if your Design is not chosen for print by Threadless.com, you are free to use the Design for any commercial or non-commercial purpose.

Good to know. I haven't read through their submission agreement in awhile. Last time I looked, I thought it said they held the rights permanently.

Thanks for clarifying, guys. I had meant that the design is still up for voting at Threadless which is clearly a problem, not just that it had been submitted. However, tjost is right in that woot's written guidelines don't specifically prohibit this (that I can see). Of course they don't specifically state a lot of things that would be helpful...

I apologize, I had no idea, I suppose should have re-read the terms. I'm in the process of getting my design taken down from here.

Any tips for how to get this accomplished?

I think you can only take it down within the first 24 hrs. During that time there is a little red X next to your design. "You must me logged in to see it.” But as for now i have no idea how to get it down. Maybe tattle on yourself and explain that you had put it up somewhere already. I really like it your design!
I guess it’s all just part of the learning curve.
=)
