This is a close cousin to Tony Hawk.

The wood grain is superb.
Re: Skateboarding Strigiformes
Your texture work is friggin AWESOME. The woodgrain, the feathers...all dope. Probably nothin' I could pull off wearing, but awesome nonetheless.

A ditto on this.

Thanks for the nice comments
I half expected this to do a little better...anyone comment on what could improve it?
Or is the whole thing just not a good idea?

Artulo asks for comments on design
Hi Artulo!
I love your glorious skateboarding owl, maybe the shirt comp with the black shirt covering it's wing should have been tinier (so you could see the whole wing) (but you did a beautiful job as always!)

I don't know - the concept is funny, the detail in the artwork is terrific, the colors are attractive (I have one little quibble about the left wing placement, but...). Maybe it's just not the week for skateboarding owls? I gotta tell you, there are times (many times) when I scratch my head at what gets votes around here, and what doesn't.

I really like the textures that you made (see previous comment) but there's a few reasons I could never rock this shirt (I try to make sure I never vote for shirts I wouldn't wear out of principle - I wish more people were like that).
- The owl (too much of a "1980's Ranger Rick magazine trying to be cool and appeal to skaters" vibe.
- I don't skate anymore, and wearing a "skate" shirt would feel phony to me.
I usually try to focus on the positive in my commentary, so I didn't share those reasons at first, but since you asked straight out I figured I'd share. Keep in mind, your art is friggin' awesome, but these are the reasons I couldn't bring myself to buy it.
Hope that helps!
Peace.

I think it's really just the skateboard. It seems to me that gimmick (not in the derogatory sense) shirts still reign supreme as that's mostly what's in the fog. This just hit the wrong one. While I like this, I don't think it's something I'd wear. Owl City, which I wouldn't say is drastically different than this, had a much better color palette and was very very wearable (I'd buy it if it printed eslewhere).
However, I seem to like your designs when they do the poorest and your highest voted designs (like gonna make you lunch) never really did it for me, so I'm not sure I would take my advice.

I don't think anything can improve the design. I voted for it and I'd buy it. People's TASTE is what needs to improve. ![]()

love it

I have to agree Art. I looks real nice to me sir. The character is fun and I really like the fine detail you put into it. I really can't be sure whats going to take off and what isn't around here.
Re: Skateboarding Strigiformes
Wow, thanks for all the great comments and critique, folks! It's very encouraging. Cheers!
