Really nicely done illustration work, but the colors turn me off...something about that bright pink and blue combined with the line work that makes me get an old-school 3-D movie headache. Props on your design though...I think it's top-notch.

This is a really cool design. I like the mermaids in this one better than in the Motley Crue shirt you did. But...something looks awkward about the one mermaid's hand (the one on the right). Maybe it's just me. Either way, you're a better artist than I could ever dream of becoming. Keep up the good work

Hi Jeaner,
I am glad I am not the only one up here right now! Yes, I needed to do more mermaids...these got more love than the "motley maids",ha ha...

Thanks for such a nice comment, but you are silly I bet you are a fantastic artist!

I gotta go to bed...talk to you later!

lol I wasn't kidding about not being an artist -- here is one entry I did in the Madness derby just for the heck of it: http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=40778

It looks to me like something a first grader would draw. And if I had done it by hand it would be even worse :P It's okay though... I can accept that I don't have that kind of artistic talent.

Wow! So much detail, and yet your designs are getting more and more confident and polished. You'll definitely hit print sometime SnowQueenVT!

I actually love your color choice here. Underwater and a bit ethereal. Got my vote. :^)

Thankyou so much Spiritgreen, I find your work to be both beautifully drawn , funny , and nice and clean so thankyou for liking this...

I have a castle in my backyard painted these colors that we built for our little "princesses"(its a huge playgym with a bridge and all kinds of stuff...) but I love these certain colors (personally) so even though others may color with subtlety and suavity I color with castlety...oh am I tired!

Thanks subbass...I do know what you mean about the colors. This design took alot out of me and by the time it was time to color, I just did what I wanted and didn't try to be sophisticated ...It could have gone in many directions but in the end it went to a place familiar
only (maybe) to me.

Thankyou Brockart... I tried to convey that the mermaids and sharks were coexisting , like, they get along...not going to eat each other. A peaceful underwater seashell shop!

Funny when I was drawing 11 sharks , you were drawing 7 whales, may they swim happily together through this sea of an "S" derby!

Well she should totally open an account, she should buy the clockmaker, honestly, own a Drakxxx shirt and LEARN from it and wear it and stuff! It is only 10 dollars today then she can vote for YOU!!

Watch out the ladies sizes are sooooo small. I ordered a wxl and seriously, my 3 year old wears it! Now I order my daughters WXL shirts... let us all know when she picks out a shirt to buy have her check the reckoning!

Also, your girlfriend sounds nice and has great taste!Ha ha, but you knew that!

I know you said you just colored with what was familiar to you, but this palette works GREAT with a sea theme! Blues and coral-y pinks? Dead-on. This is probably one of your best.

Hey Snow - Love your design and you know how I feel about sharks!!! Can't get enough. Really well done and I love the atmosphere you create with the colors. You will/should print soon - you're definitely developing a following and your illustrations are among the best out there. Another great piece! GMV.

Hi sakleehop! I DO know how you like sharks which is why I kept putting more in! I thought of you while doing this! I commented to my family yesterday that it takes a long time to do one shark. It takes a REALLY long time to do 11 sharks a loggerhead(?) turtle, a funny pink fish (very roughly based on our 2 beta fish "Rainbow and Flower"a bunch of sea shells and of course the two mermaids. I didn't even go to bed thursday night, staunchly did I sit all day and night Friday and finally got the thing submitted in the dead of sat-sun night. I was sooo behind schedule on it, so tired. I actually caught myself falling asleep at the computer 2x's!!! So I really appreciate that anyone likes it...these are the colors you pick when you are exhausted, pretty dreamy colors , but also colors that you can SEE!!

Do you do a line drawing by hand??
Or did you do all this on the computer?
I can’t imagine the amount of time you spent.
I would love to learn your technique. Layers brushes...everything!
As for me wearing this... it’s a little to girlish for my taste, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not f'n awesome
I can’t believe this doesn’t have more votes.
Come on PEOPLE!
Look at this!

Thanks EZ! Aw, c'mon! Wear the girly shirt! (Ha ha!)

I usually do a drawing on paper then redraw it in photoshop then color it in illustrator . For this one I tried drawing directly on the computer, I had the idea worked out in my head , but I think that slowed me down, next derby I am going to go back to the quick drawing on paper thing 1st.

I challenged you to submit to the dailies and I hereby challenge myself, that way I can do a design without the intense pressure of the derby...so I'm going to figure out something cool to submit, something for summer. You do something funny!!

DAYUM girl! Your designs are just getting better and better. I've been a fan of yours since I saw you first submitting, and I can't believe how much your style has evolved in the last few weeks! This looks fantastic! The proportions on the mermaids seem a teeny bit off, but that is not too big of a deal. The colors may be a bit girly as well, but I think they were great choices for an underwater piece! Keep up the good work, snowqueen. I loooove this =)

Also, I am REALLY hoping you get an HM from the "Madness" derby. The Lady in the Woods is my favorite piece of yours, and I hope to see those trees in a future design! They were amazing!

Thanks Jesse! I was all about being in Jesse -mode when I picked the thumbnail...I really wanted to zoom in on the seashell selling mermaid but forced myself to back off, then I saw Drakxxx's closeup of his samurii (can't spell that word) and I was like, oh no, I wanted a closeup too! When submitting at 2 am you can't really think straight!!

We love checking your portfolio page. You are such a huge talent. My very favorite piece you have done is "collision" , and this piece reminds me of that.

Also, your wife is pretty! I am so nosy, I enjoyed the shirt thread where we can see people wearing shirts. Your house is clean.End comment!

Haha! You crack me up. I'm glad you like my portfolio page. I'm not always very good at updating it like I should.

Don't tell anyone but I'm nosy too. I love looking at peoples portfolios and seeing what sort of design work people do outside of woot. It's fun. Besides, it's fun to see other aspects to peoples lives. I always thought it'd be fun if Woot somehow had a profile page for designers so you could see pics of shirts they designed/own/love, plus a chance to put random info for people to read about them. I don't know, sort of a get-to-know your community type of thing. One of my favorite things about teefury is getting to read the little interviews.

Just realized what a dork I am.
