Poor Piggy. I like the shade of purplish pink you used. It's a nice slight deviation from the regular pink pig.

I love both books. I'm just sad that there isn't more about it that says LOTF. Most would look at this and just see Wilbur running from hunters.
Writers are people too! (Albeit strange ones.)
Save Poe! Reckon Nevermore! Or he'll be head-locked forevermore!

I understand but I wanted the shirt to stand alone too bc the theme this week is kinda random and you either need to make the connection extremely obvious or very subtle, i went with subtle.

This is extremely well-done. I love the detail on the pig's face. I would slap a +1 on right now if it wasn't so extremely off-topic. I'll be sad when it is rejected...

Wonderfully done
I have to vote for this, even if it reminds me of the nightmares I had as a kid when I read that book :P

Rocks, just rocks - and good job of repositioning so the spear is behind. My FAVORITE color shirt, too. GMV!

All I'm saying is that (as pointed out in the pre-derby thread) neither book referenced here is in public domain. Maybe the rejectionator won't be heavy-handed, but if they follow the letter of the rules posted - this design will be stamped. We'll see. If it isn't rejected in the next couple days, I will most certainly add +1.

Clever! Two books where they are trying to kill "Piggy!" Worth a vote based on cleverness alone, but the illustration is excellent too!

I like that the grass is disturbed where the spear hits now.
Also, nice to see the pig outrun the spear. Haha.
On another note, it would have been interesting if you'd incorporated glasses onto the pig, or maybe sitting on the ground crushed by the pig. Would have been very interesting, though you've done great without it.

Neither of these books are in the public domain, but as far as I'm concerned, this is just a shirt with a pig running away from a spear. Nothings blatantly showing Charlotte's Web or Lord of the Flies on this shirt so hopefully it'll pass. And as usual, great work on the shirt. Your stuff always goes underappreciated here so good luck with this design.

Ok, so I just watched two and a half men last night and Jake was supposed to read Lord of the Flies. Alan asked him what it was about, and Jake said, 'Its like Charlotte's Web, but from the flies point of view.'
This just reminded me of it.

Re: Charlotte's Web/The Lord of the Flies
It is great but neither book is public domain.
Having said that, maybe it'll be okay legally speaking since it's clearly parody.
Although, in the spirit of the competition, it is not technically following the rules.
I am pulling for this one to not be rejected, though.

Re: Charlotte's Web/The Lord of the Flies
This would be my first t-shirt purchase if not for the spider. No offense, but the spider looks nothing like Charlotte.
Charlotte has bigger and more feminine eyes. Even the body shape is wrong.
If you fix the spider, I am in!

Re: Charlotte's Web/The Lord of the Flies
I love both of these books. But, this just reminds me out of a part of Lord of the Flies, but you just added Charlotte to the top of the pig's head.
And, I did look up whether these books were public domain, and it turns out neither of them are.
This is a great website to check out if a book is public domain or not
Here is what they say about Lord of the Flies/all of Golding's works
Here is what they say about Charlotte's Web
Usually you are safe if the work is published before 1923.

I think it would look even better if there were a web with a message in it somewhere....like "run" or whatever. Just MHO.
