Goodness. Classical literature in a classical style. And classic skirochester!

Re: The Family Jules

It's kinda cool, but it's also incredibly faint. I'm not sure I trust the shirt to still look like that after a few washes, especially since none of the lines appear terribly solid/crisp.

This is just beautiful. I think it makes a better poster or print than a shirt, but it's gorgeous.

I'm no expert on shirt printing by any means, but from what I've gathered by looking at other shirts in other derbies, don't the details of this seem a bit too fine to print very well?

Re: The Family Jules

thanks for the votes & feedback. The drawing was converted to halftones and should print fine. I'll post a close up this weekend. I wanted the style of the design to have that classic, hand-drawn feel. So I put away the tablet and got out the pencil and paper for this one.

Sorry, this is great artwork, but not a great tshirt design. Something just bothers me about wearing a huge face on my chest. Make me look like I'm double headed or something.

I agree, doesn't stop me from loving the design, but seems like it would lose a lot in translation to fabric, halftones or no. I would buy a giclee print of this.

Yesss! That would work great. The fine line detail and small halftones just might not translate well to fabric. Doesn't' mean I won't buy it if it wins - I definitely will! And hope it prints well. If not, it'll still be a cool shirt, and I can look for you to print it elsewhere for me to hang.

I can totally tell this came from a traditional pencil sketch, which is awesome. The delicate tones and shaded carried over very nicely, and the composition is great.

They never use a hot air balloon in Around the World in 80 days. Not in Jules Verne's book atleast. That was adapted for the movie.

In all, I do like the drawing, but I'm just one for accuracy.

Ah, but there is a hot air balloon in: The Mysterious Island.

No one ever said there was a hot air balloon in Around the World in 80 days. You must have assumed that on your own.

To have Mashed the "I'd want" button any faster I'd have needed a time machine (but that's hg wells, so I wasn't going to find one on this shirt)

lol! You are right, I did assume that the Mysterious Island in the picture was for The Mysterious Island novel and that the hot air balloon was mistakenly included for Around the World in 80 days. But you are right, I did assume. I will do better next time.

  • Congratulations on winning a Best Loser Award!
  • This is not SPAM.
  • Winning a BLA does NOT mean this shirt won't print -- I'm hoping it does.
  • Your one and only gift is this crappy little badge in your shirt thread. Enjoy.
