the kid drawing is the eyewitness.

people assume cave drawings were done by elders painting a story.

but the kid knows he is the one who drew in his room when his parents were away.

He's a hairy little pipsqueak. This is a great use of the theme. Establishing the eyewitness, of which there is no absolute record.
