Given woot's wacky theme for this week's contest, I figure I'd try to draw something that could possibly be fun to wear even
for those that aren't into the actual sport of soccer. It's the GALAXY LEAGUE going for the GOOOOOAAAAAAALLLL!!!111!!!

Looks great i think green might have been a better shirt color, though i know you love the blue. Great as always though.

My first vote for a drakxxx design. I know he's not your usual target audience, but my 7 year old soccer player will LOVE this!

I like this shirt but the "4 Moons Champions" sounds a little awkward.

I disagree with the above comment, I think the blue looks better than a green background - it goes better with the purple soccer eater.

I loved this when you were developing it. Then you put the frame around it. You're in the fog, so you must be doing something right, but I just think the frame detracts rather than adding.
But apparently, others disagree, so ... *shrug*

My favorite part of this design is the humanoid player's body position. Its just so accurate and natural looking. You are an amazing artist sir.

Hey what are you using to get that particle fade in the background? Is that something that can be done in photoshop? Or is it like an illustrator thing?

I'm not the designer, but...

That's a halftone. It can be done fairly easily in photoshop. The easiest way I have found (that provides a decent result) is to create a selection in the shape you want, fill it with a gradient, convert to gray scale then bitmap. A dialog will popup with a drop down list, select halftone menu. Then adjust those settings, I usually use between 4 - 8 per inch, but ymmv. Then convert back to RGB and fill with the color you want.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. This theme is wacky as all anything, but it was fun trying to do something that was "me" within it's guidelines.

Yeah, that's a halftone effect, and can be done in photoshop. The person's post above mine pretty much explains how to go about it.

Mr. CMDixon is, in my opinion the halftone master around here, and if you were looking to do anything more advanced with it, he's be the guy to ask.

Great illustration as always. Though it is not my style, I definitely appreciate your insane amount of skill. I think I like the sense of movement and power in the kicker's leg the best. Very well done.
