This is quite beautiful, Deadfrog. I really, really like your take on it. The artwork has a rather dreamy and mystical quality to it and it fits very well. GMV!

Thanks, I had a lot of fun creating this. I wanted it to feel like the dawn after a long night spent in battle. (Yes, I know that sounds a little over-dramatic.)

Gore-geous.

Really cool concept, great design. Only thing I'm personally not fond of is the eyes of the angel, something just doesn't sit right with me in relation to the character. Still definitely a vote from me, gj sir.

Epic pose! And the crossed swords is a nice extra touch of symbolism.

I can't un-see the view of him looking like he only has one leg. Also, is that a skateboard behind the minotaur's head? Finally, why use a minotaur?

To answer your questions,

1. Yes, he does have 2 legs. Most angels do.
2. The thing behind the Minotaur's head is a broken sword.
3. I actually hadn't put much thought into why. I just thought it would look pretty sweet. I guess you could think of it as a retelling of the Daedalus myth, with the time line being rearranged to accommodate more fight sequences.

Re: Winged Victory

Something about the sparkle on the sword reminds me of a magic card for some reason, and I just dug my old collection out after about a decade of not looking at them... so it might sound funny, but your design has a bit of a nostalgic look to it and I really like it lol.

This is really sweet. I can see people's issue with the 'one leg' thing, but I didn't notice it until people pointed it out. I really like this, great work DeadFrog. Your skills always amaze me!

The angel is too sweet, not a big fan of the horned thing but everyone's a critic.

If this prints it's a definite buy from me, GMV

I really like it, and would want one, except for it looking like he only has one leg.

It kind of makes it look like the shirt/print came from a seconds/irregular bin.

Amazing interpretation of a really great art piece. I love the drama you give it, and the color scheme really works. Brilliant job.

Re: Winged Victory

my only real critique (i think the legs are fine. i never saw it as only having one by the way...) is that the angel is rocking what appear to be samurai swords.

a more medieval shaped sword(s) with more hand guard and maybe more of a pointed or even flanged and less chisel tip blade would fit the style better i think.

but this is a minor thing...

excellent work!

I think this is a great design. I love the leg back as it is. It adds action to the illustration. I think it would lose a lot if the other leg was extended and in full view.

Is Samothrace sculpture the inspiration piece?

This is one of the best shirts I've seen yet so far in my time on Woot.
