Ooh, it could be! I kind of had a solar eclipse in my head while I was drawing it but it did turn out a bit snowflakey.

Last derby had a design submitted on three different color shirts. (The designed changed color palettes, too.)
So, I don't think you'd get rejected, but you might possibly split your votes.
