Draxxx, I love almost all of your submissions. Don't stop doing this ghostly stuff. It's great. I totally want that Underworld submit to print in the Double Take derby.

That would indeed be awesome because I also really liked Underworld, but it did not get an HM so it won't be in the Double Take. :<

Excellent and funny shirt!, good job!

You're drawings are always really well done, but usually it's not something that I'd want to wear.

This time's the exception though and I'm giving you a +1! Awesome job.

I think the only thing I'd change, is taking away the thick cartoony dashes above the pumpkin head. The question mark might not even really be necessary.

I just checked the honorable mentions. Seriously, they should have swapped out lOLCITIES for Underworld. I mean it's a great concept, but a lot of them were spelled wrong and there were WAY funnier cities he could have used.

When I finally get my DtG printer built, perhaps I'll just print it onto a shirt myself and send Draxxx a few bucks...

There you guys are! I was wondering where you were last week. Relaxing in the glow of your win the previous week and squandering your money away huh Nice job, though somethings buggin me about the horse, they're a pain to draw, I know, just seems a little off... :S

Yep, we're back. We haven't been paid yet so no spending, just lacked any good ideas and both had other things to do. As for the horse, I heard a rumor that it's actually a mule. Apparently Headless there is environmentally conscious and only drives hybrids.

Seriously though if it wasn't a humorous entry I would have either edited it myself or sent it back for revision but I sort of think it's even more amusing this way. His wittle pony! Awww

Very funny and great illustration, you two! If my daughter could vote, she'd be all over this one. She loves anything and everything horse related. In fact, she'd like it all the better because the horse is spooky.

Although I have a lot of respect for you two as artists, I don't always vote for your shirts because the darker stuff just isn't for me. But I LOVE this one and if I could vote for it a million times I would! It's a perfect Halloween shirt for me: dark, but also funny and literary. Thanks for crossing over to the lighter side so my "I'd Want One" vote really means that I'd *want to buy* one.

Horses are theeee worst, I hate drawing them and they always look creepy to me. That being said, this is pretty fantastic.

Time for another look at some progress images. I haven't bothered to post any in our other collabs because honestly, there's been nothing to show. Typically Drakxxx comes up with the idea, does the drawing, sends it to me, and I color it. I may make a couple of odd edits but that's about it. I might change a face or scale something slightly, but generally it's how he drew it.

This time there's a little more to show so here we go.

Contrary to popular belief, this one started out with a 60 second sketch by yours truely. Terrible indeed, but the point was to show the idea and placement of what I was describing to Drakxxx. There was no point in drawing it and coloring.



I asked him to come up with better things for luggage so that it was clearly a vacation and not him moving. This is what he sent back for his early version. I loved the pumpkin head and the luggage. It was perfect. But I wanted a few changes.



I took his drawing and roughed in my ideas for changes which included a darker meaner horse, a turned neck so that it more clearly read that he was looking at the map and not showing us something along the lines of a "Will work for food" sign, and lastly, some looser fitting pants.



He sent back this final version with the optional "Sleepy Hollow" sign layer and said I could either keep it or ditch it. I liked it so I kept it in.



Colors weren't a problem this time. I pretty much went straight to Royal Blue and these exact colors. I sent him back the finished image with my own optional layer called "?" which is the mark over his head. While not necessary, I liked it because it was super easy to read at a glance so even your thickest admirers will get it. But I told him the difference it made wasn't enough either way to really care. He liked it with the ? too so he kept it and you have what we ended up with.

The progression is definitely cool. While I think the giant pony look is funny, I think I like your more horse-like version a bit better. Still great work, in any case! ;)

Still glad you advised me to let the horseman's junk breath. No wonder that dude is so angry all the time. If you look at the first Drak drawing, you can see I originally had him all bound up. That is no way to go on a trip.

I figured the somewhat comical styling of the horse would be a fun fit with the pumpkin's expression.

The Sleepy Hollow is by far my favorite entry to this derby. With the Batman and Robin in second. I really hope they make it.

This is terrific gentlemen - I sure hope you print this week; I'm definitely in for one. And I love the short look into the progression of the design - I've always wondered how the two of you work together to come up with such a great final product. Frankly, I'm shocked that your collaborations don't print regularly - they are some of the best entries, period! Good luck to you...
