Re: Cryptalfabet

Rosa the Explorer has never seen a cryptid. She’s only heard of them. So how does she know what to look for? It’s all in the name of course! The Abominable Snowman, Bigfoot, a Phantom Cat …X-ing, X-ing… A Unicorn is just one cob of corn, right? Makes sense…Easy!

(Btw—-all these words have real Latin endings. Not fake ones.)

Re: Cryptalfabet

Hi everyone! Some were a little unclear with what this was, so I did a few minor modifications with the alphabet letters standing out, and adjusting some of the drawings.

Have a nice evening!

Um, if it looks like I'm talking to myself, I am.

Ok, thanks Moderator---I just saw what you wrote. And here I was thinking it was all magic.

Thanks!

Oh you poor thing - carrying on a conversation with yourself! I do it all the time, preferably not in print!
I think your concept is good, and the drawings are cute. I don't 'get' a couple, though. Like the pogo (o'go??) stick. If you were looking for an 'o', there's owlman. There were a couple of others that puzzled me, too, though if you explain them I'll probably do a forehead-slap.

Ha! Yeah, I think it was late and I was clearly disinhibited that night.

So, yeah I should have explained. I grabbed all of these from the cryptid list on wiki and another cryptid list I came across. I was trying to make everything seem as harmless as possible, but maybe it got way too subtle. Here goes:

A: Abominable (snowman)
B: Big (foot)
C: (phantom) cat
D: Devil (bird)
E: Ebu (gogo)
F: Flying (rod)
G: Giant (squid) (historical cryptid)
H: Hoop (snake)
I: Inflatable (hedgehog)
J: Jersey (devil)
K: Komodo (dragon) (historical cryptid)
L: Lochness (monster)
M: Moth (man)
N: Nandi (bear)
O: Ogo (pogo)
P: Pygmy (elephant)
Q: Queensland (tiger)
R: Rat (king)
S: Skunk (ape)
T: Thunder (bird)
U: Uni (corn)
V: Vampire (bat) (historical cryptid)
W: Were (wolf)
X: Xing (xing) (i.e. xing-xing)
Y: Yae (tea) (yeti)
Z: My made up word for someone who looks for these things

Thanks for the feedback. I thought of making some of these into individual t-shirts and making them more obvious, but then I thought maybe the drawings look too cartoonish for this audience. I don't actually draw cartoon figures in general, but it's all I could do as I was just learning that day how to use my drawing pad (which seems really different than drawing on paper).

I think this is cute and it's obvious you put a lot of thought and time into it. Don't worry, sometimes I talk to myself too

I like that you have an ear of corn in the design. Why? I don't know, but it made me laugh.

Anyhooo...continue your conversation. I didn't mean to interrupt.
