Re: Baby Saber
Wow there is a lot of good detail here, and it doesn't feel clutter at all.
I am digging it!
Re: Baby Saber
You've got some skill, sister.
Re: Baby Saber
Very unique style, the colors are nice together, and refreshing to see a submission not in earth tones. I have always liked the tiger-striped take on sabertooths. Good luck!
It does feel a little busy to me, and I recognize that is partially because of the style you've drawn in. It could be made a little less busy by taking out the dots in the foreground (they make it look like it's snowing almost) and perhaps making the grass blades thicker and not having quite as many. (Because they overlap the fur, which is already very textured) The fur and the leaves seem fine, since they don't overlap and are actually quite "solid" - meaning, the shirt color doesn't show through nearly as much as the very thin grass blades. If that makes any sense.
Re: Baby Saber
Terrific work!
Re: Baby Saber
wow! this is incredible well done! congrats!
Re: Baby Saber
I can haz one for a pet?
Your style never ceases to blow me away.
Re: Baby Saber
I love this.
Re: Baby Saber
I really like the effect you have going. It gives the shirt a ton of texture and the colors are extremely well picked. I'm a particular fan of the spiraling stripes on the sabertooth.

You're such a wonderful illustrator, SnowQueen'.

Hey Snow - another fantastic design! I'm so jealous - you've got mad skills. I love the effect you create... I don't understand why your design are consistently under rewarded. Don't stop trying though, they'll have to come around eventually. GMV!! Good luck.

Re: Mystery Solved
Re: Baby Saber
it's a really nice and fresh design.I think the dots are too equally put on the design, and have all same size, perhaps you could get a better effect , using different sizes and more random placement, but just my 2 cents ;-))sorry for my approximative english
Re: Baby Saber
Yay! I knew it was you by the thumbnail
So happy to see you submitting stuff again lately! I love your style ![]()
Re: Baby Saber
You got my vote, SnowQueen! The furriness of the tiger and the sparkly stars drew me right in.
Re: Baby Saber
The imagery with your style is sweet on this one. I love the tenderness of the scene. Well done.

Kharma, that is a great suggestion about the dots...I was right at the coloring stage when my computer quit and I hadn't saved it...I lost a half days work on it...so I took a long break , decided not to give up, went back, re -did all the work, and the last thing I added was the dots...next time, I am going to use your advice about dot size. (thankyou for the great and very useful input!!
Also, as you know I am loving your cool entries...
Especially this one (Below) I didn't realize that you weren't from around here!! Maybe that explains the artwork, it is really nice, and not what you see every day.

Re: Baby Saber
Long, long ,long,looooong ago.....
By Urga
One night in a fit of pique , I left the cave because my mate Thorg had eaten the last yuck-pew plant.
Angrily I thrashed through the forest!
Suddenly, Urga stopped! Quiet was Urga, there, through the bushes Urga saw a heartwarming scene that nevertheless made her blood run cold!
It was an enormous cat with long curved teeth and with it was its cub, ferocious and cruel ,not even two and already a maneater!
Quickly Urga took a rock and wisely carved the touching scene into a piece of handy rotting wood!
Urga showed Thorg! Silly cave artists painting on walls! This much better! Now Urga say, one million years from now, everyone will see the long tooth, for here it is ...on Urgas piece of wood!
(this ridiculousness brought to you by your friend snowqueenvt, we now return to your previously scheduled program, already in progress)

I like the dots, I think it makes the whole scene look a little magical. I would recommend (for future reference) maybe using a thinner stroke for the black outlines, it will tone down the business but still preserve the rich texture that makes this beautiful.
It's a really nice piece though, and I love the color palette. I think it would make a very wearable shirt.
