I get it. I think. It's like a creative flow chart. The ? represents the hypothesis, the + - / x represent the experimentation and analysis, and the !! represents the conclusion.

Thought this Derby was about the Scientific method, not Abstract.

I think that it's both abstract and loosely tied to scientific method. A lot moreso than most of the shirt designs I've seen thus far for this derby.

Maybe that is too abstract, but is the maximum simplification of the pure scientific method. As Sogj says, hypothesis, estimates (empirical) and finally the law.

Rejected? I can not entirely agree. You say that we could use numbers and mathematical equations. I think we have been too stringent. But rules are rules.
