Re: x = pb j
pb+j = nom³
Re: x = pb j
This is a shirt I can stand behind, and a nice departure from your usual style. Good job ![]()
Re: x = pb j
Maybe a slight smattering of color either on the jelly or make it look like jelly got on the schematics, I think that would sell it even better, then it would also be applied science.
Re: x = pb j
Wow, I never thought a PBJ could look better than it already does. Great work!
Re: x = pb j
Beautiful! Would compliment the "PB+J music factory" woot shirt I have quite well...
Also, I think this alone is good reason for having an architecture/engineering-styled derby, by the way.
Re: x = pb j
I really like your style here, I feel like this is much more refined than your usual submissions. I just don't like how the whole thing is halftones... it looks very smooth and clean on a computer screen, but it's going to look a lot different printed...
Re: x = pb j
This is fantastically done. Very, very nice work, I can only hope that this makes it's way to the top.

Re: x = pb j
winner!! nice drawing and so glad you used grapes. I like strawberries but concord grape jelly & peanutbutter is heaven on earth. =P to all you haters.
Re: x = pb j
This design reminds me of my CAD software, which being only an engineering student, is incredibly frustrating. Once I learn it I'd probably love it, but right now I don't think I can get behind it.
Cool shirt either way though.

good idea. too late now, though. : [

no doubt.
Re: x = pb j
Liking this much and will vote! I suspect that one way or another, this will eventually print, simply because Woot likes to make cream shirts because everyone gets so mad about it :-)
Re: x = pb j
for everyone saying there should be a blob of jelly on the shirt, you could always make it happen yourself. customize your shirt to a one-off as plenty of jams and jellies stain, especially grape (ftw!). =)
I haven't wanted a shirt so bad in a long time!! Fantastic design. So understated!

it's 100% done in PS. stoked you ask, though, as i struggle to get a good pencil look in PS.

You're kidding, rite? I may not be great at discerning these things, but I certainly thought some of your stuff (Sullen) was hand-done and scanned. Which is not a bad thing by any stretch.
By contrast, I can do a nice sketchy style on paper, but can't get it to translate to digital very well. I mess with Threshold, etc., but my lines still look weeny. ![]()

Whoa! Color me impressed. Seriously amazing work.
Re: x = pb j
I like the shirt, but being an engineering student I can recognize that your drawings are seriously under dimensioned, which would cause quite a problem for anyone actually trying to build these sandwiches.
Re: x = pb j
I just voted for you. I'm sure I just put you over the top. You are welcome ;)

seriously? that's what hung you up? you need to get out more.
using bread as a standard:
they make pb and j jars that size in relation to the bread.
there are even grapes that size in relation to the bread.
i've even seen knives that size.
the only thing a different size from everything else is the peanut, which can be drawn to a different scale.
and don't even start with a defense of "you can't have multiple scales or dimensions on a blueprint", because maybe you can't in college, but in the real world, people cut corners. trust me.

PB & J's... The greatest thing ever invented?
I think so.

But yes, pb and j is absolutely essential to the survival of the human race!
(If woot had a purple shirt (HInt HInt) it would solve the issue of the grape jelly...) If this were to win perhaps there might be cause to introduce a purple shirt option? I would predict a huge sell out....)
but then it wouldn't look like drafting paper?
a heather blue might work too for blueprints.
but i am all for introducing a frosty grape color into the options.

SnowQueenVT wrote:(RE some of us wish woot had purple shirts and this design would look great on purple IF there were purple shirts.)
I think the need for purple shirts around here is pretty dire.
Desperate times call for desperate measures!
Sacrifice the drafting paper look and give purple to the people!
Pur-ple!
Pur-ple!...
(of course since theres no purple, we'll just have to go with option one and slop grape jelly on ourselves)
But I don't think this would look better purple. The sketchy-ness sells it, along with pb&j being easily recognizable. If it were on purple it wouldn't show as sketchy, but as dark lines.
Like I said, I'm all for adding a frosty grape color, just not for this shirt. "Gonna make you lunch" would've looked good on a light purple shirt (although I love lemon too).
My fear is that if woot ever added purple, it would be a dark purple, restricting the inks that would be clearly visible, versus a frosty purple that would allow for a wider range of inks.

Re: x = pb j
am loving this, hope it wins!!!!
Crushed that this didn't make it. It's woot's fault that all my PB&J sandwiches will be lopsided and not aerodynamic.
