Meme Parade

Well, I went to the American History Museum, and I saw an exhibition about a macy's parade, and I tough will be cool to see a lot of memes on his own parade! So, I was drawing until now!

I hope you enjoy it.

Great job like always! I particularly like the dude with the giant sombrero. We saw a guy with a hat like that at a Lucha show in LA one time, we suspected that he had a six pack of Tecate stacked under there.

I still hate the theme, but if this shirt came in randoms, I'd wear it.

From the pre-derby thread it sounded like you had something ambitious on the boil and you do not disappoint Walmazan. Great texture and linework, though I was hoping to find a muffin or another of your characters hidden in there.

My only concern is that this looks so small on the tee you won't be able to make anything out from more than 3 feet away. If you some how could have done a more diagonal design to give yourself the ability to make the image larger, I think it would have helped add visual clarity.

I would argue that with this theme, that's actually a positive.

This is still the best thing that's been subbed yet, so for that alone, I hope it does well.

I LOVE the Macy's Parade!!! The only other parade that comes close is the Rose Parade. Walmazan, you have captured the feel of the Macy's Parade, with things happening in the air, on floats and on the ground, and the idea that whatever is the latest "thing" will be there. Except for the Macy's star balloons between floats and for Santa Claus at the end of the parade, it truly is a parade of the latest memes, either of show business or advertising or whatever.

I didn't think I would vote for anything this week but YOU GMV! You have rescued this derby from the trash heap.

This week's theme made me cringe in fear, but I think you just pulled it off spectacularly- I'd actually buy this in a heartbeat. I'm pretty surprised about it too!

Hey Walmazan - When I saw you posted that you were working on something that was going to take you a while, I thought I'd at least come back and check it out. I think you did an otterific job. It will probably be the only one I vote for this week, and I was determined to not even vote.

If I wanted to read into this a little, I'd say you've made the memes into a ridiculous parade that everyone can choose to gawk at/participate in/or walk away from. You know, IF I wanted to read into it. ;)

Yep. I'll agree. BEST! But mind you, being the best in the worst theme ever isn't a negative in this case.

Honestly, I think this is one of the only t-shirts I would buy in this derby. It's not "in your face", even though it's covered in memes! It's very well done.

Funny history, last friday I went to the museum with two of my treadless artist friends (Igo2cairo and myteemo), in the meanwhile I was doodling this illo in the museum coffee shop. before the museum, we went to a mexican restaurant. first, the salsa splat in my draw..I cleaned and nothing happen, after two couples of margaritas (happy hour) a entire margarita splat in my book too , but nothing happen at all, nice pens water proof!

So my advice.. one margarita helps a lot with the creativity, two, help a lot too, 3, you loose speed, but still you can draw, 4-5 maybe its a good idea to close your sketch book!

Great detail, and otterific use of the theme. Only reason i'm not going to give you the vote is just because its not something I could see myself wearing on a shirt. I feel like it'd make a better print or desktop background.

Still, many compliments on the design - it really is quite impressive.

Oh bravo madam! This is so detailed, and has a great look in the blue and gray. Each person is unique, that must have been fun to do. I like charlie brown in a the afro next to the sombrero guy. Your at your best when you do detail like this.

If this doesn't print I will punch many things so hard. I feel like I could stare at it every so often and find new things, like a Where's Wally. It took me a good 10 minutes of searching to find Sad Keanu.

Incredible detail!

A caveat: Any woman wearing this is likely to attract (moreso) geeks to stare intently at the woman's chest for prolonged periods with a goofy grin.

I thought that was common practice regardless of the woman's apparel.

This is really cool, but I just can't get into it on a shirt. Between the small, landscaped details, and the subtle contrast, I fear it's going to be indistinguishable from anywhere further than 3 feet in front of someone's face.

Thats what I love about this shirt!! Its not huge characters that are in your face like so many others.
