Haha! Nice, geekfactor. :^)

This is a particularly tragic phobia for a shark, they don't last long out of the water.

Re: Fear of Drowning

So far I think this design best illustrates the concept of "phobias", which are irrational and intense fears. A shark being fearful of drowning is the perfect illustration of an irrational fear.

Indeed--if the phobia is of drowning, shouldn't the shark be afraid of being in the air? This looks more like fear of breathing, at least from the shark's gilly perspective.

You must have missed the floater ring and water wings...

poor sharkey, he should get therapy right away, and tell them to take care of his fear of swimming backwards while theyre at it. =)

cute simple design, nice job.

No, I saw them. The point is that if the shark fears "drowning," then what is "drowning" to a shark? It's being in the air, not under the water! This shark is deliberately staying out of the water--thus, "drowning."

It would be the same as a person who fears drowning weighing his/herself down to remain underwater...

This looks like a perfect side view of the shark and the second eye ought to be on the other side (not visible). The second eye is drawn kind of like the nose is not pointing parallel to the page, but the nose doesn't look that way.

Anyway, the eye is freaking me out. If you simply remove that extra eye, this shirt gets my vote. Please, resubmit it. I like the design, I stab the idea. But the eye. I can't take the eye.

[edited for grammar] The shark is in fact afraid of drowning underwater, and since this is completely ridiculous, it is a phobia.

I love this website! ^^

I have to agree with the comments on that right eye. Rather than lose it, though, I think you should move it farther right, toward the other - make them clearly both on the same side. It's a common cartoony convention, and should work.

  • Congratulations on winning a Best Loser Award!
  • This is not SPAM.
  • Winning a BLA does NOT mean this shirt won't print -- I'm hoping it does.
  • Your one and only gift is this crappy little badge in your shirt thread. Enjoy.
  • Smoking cigarettes and watching "Kaptain Kangaroo" -- don't tell me, I've nothing to do.

Re: Fear of Drowning

ok, so i love the 'wonkey' eye... (even love the word 'wonkey'!) re the shark drowning... a wonkey shark must be moving thru H2O to get wonkey oxygen across its wonkey gills, so... fear of drowning for a shark out of wonkey H2O is so wonkey phobic! (is that a word...oh, wait, is wonkey a word? never wonkey mind, I'm wonkily done)

triple stab - art, science, and name!

wonkey woots to u!

Want to buy a t.
