Bats can be scared of the dark too. Thankfully nightlights help chase the darkness away.
Gally242 suggested this idea to me and I thought it was an bloody mixture of the theme and a slight Halloweenish nod.

Yay! I was actually hoping someone would do a "Bats afraid of the dark" idea, but I didn't get a chance to comment on the pre-derby thread early and I figured it was too late to give the idea. I'm glad you thought of it! And this is so well-done...very sweet little bat. Got my vote!

Such an adorable bat! He looks so cozy and happy wrapped all snug in his wings. And in addition to being super cute, very nicely done - the shadows and light on the bat are excellent. Great one dianasprinkle!

awwwwww! i stab bats, they are adorable to me...i like this diana, not as *bright* as you usually do with the colors so nice to see a little change from you =)
my only problem is that bat should be using energy saver bulbs! haha. +1

Diana, you've done great with the mood in this design.
To be honest, it's probably not a picture that I personally would wear, but I think my daughter would wear the heck out of it.

This is adorable! It makes me think of my son who loves his night light. That little bat looks so happy!

I've been meaning to ask, what method was used to get the dotted dimple effect of the light? a pattern + mask?

This bat is sooo cute!I stab the little smile on it's face. It looks so content. It also reminds me of my nightlight when I was little...
Even more interesting--when I scroll down, the motion of the image on my screen makes it look like the glow of the light is flickering.

I kinda wish it was a little clearer that it was a nightlight - i really like the concept (and yes bats are incredibly cute, even IRL. Kidna wish i could have one as a pet). Best of luck.

Thanks everyone for all the comments and votes! I'm happy this little guy seems to be doing well. I've been sort of sick all week so I'm really cheered to still find this design still in the fog.
@Kalari - Gally suggested it when I was trying to come up with something slightly Halloween, then she keep sending me images of cotton ball bats. So adorable.

@megsck - I always feel a bit lost with color. I never know what I will end up coloring things until the end most of time. The light was a lot more yellow in the early versions of this one. Everything became light blue when I switched to a navy shirt color.
@Spiritgreen - LOL, don't tempt me. I have ideassssss.
