Awesome penwork, you can really see it in the big version. And the colors make this very cool. :^)
Re: rock a billy robot v2
Very slick design Meg! Love your style so much! +1
Re: rock a billy robot v2
Very cool. Being in Austin, the "Music Capital" of the world, I think this guy would fly over really well here! We have a lot of rockabilly fans here.
+1!
Re: rock a billy robot v2
I get a definite FLCL vibe from this one.
Re: rock a billy robot v2
This is robot rad! I would totally buy one. GMV +1.

Agreed, even if it's not intentional, Canti has the same style build and is also the same color scheme. Much too close for legality issues.

seriously? have you even seen flcl? this is canti:
this is mine:
this is a rock-a-billy:
i made a robot with a pompadour, sideburns, a leather jacket, rolled up jeans, and converse, playing a rock-a-billy guitar...and because i put a screen for a head he's too much like canti? canti wasn't the first and i wont be the last to put a screen as a face for a robot. i wanted to show that he was plugged INTO the music and that was what was making him live. so i made his face a monitor so you could see the sound waves he was making and so it would also look like a heart monitor keeping him alive.
so in conclusion, canti is not a rock-a-billy, so they do not have the same style. the only similar build they have is that they have a screen for a face and arms and legs, and lastly canti is red for a portion of the series, he is blue for a majority of it and even so its not like they copyrighted "red color schemed robots" mine is more of an orangy red brown anyway.
No need to get so defensive, I'm just making an observation that it's close enough at first glance that the rejectinator might have a problem with it as there have been other instances where there was a resemblance to something even outside of the no-pop-culture rule. A robot with a monitor face, lanky built, red coloration with yellow hues (a signature of FLCL as a whole) and holding a guitar makes it a risky entry. It's not like I can't see the differences-- the chucks/jacket/mohawk/etc are a great touch, I'm just concerned, especially considering multiple people have made the observation.
And yes, I have seen FLCL. I cosplay Haruko and sometimes other characters every year at Otakon, if I really MUST prove myself.
Re: rock a billy robot v2
I'd "rock" this! Love the equalizer lights in the background.

I love this. Kept meaning to pop in and say so, but haven't had a moment to until now.
