I like it. You can take a quick glance at it and get the joke without any sort of backstory. A lot of my Woot shirts take far too much explaining before people understand what's going on.

Plus I'm a sucker for cutely drawn dragons.

The soft halftone shading you did looks very nice. I also really like the trees, and how their burn pattern frames the little dragon.

It all visually draws the eyes back to the dragon, which I like.

blammoed, thank you for the kind words. it was kinda painful to burn out 1/2 the trees like that, looked nicer full & green

Cute little dragon. He looks so innocent sitting there. I like your choice of colors.

So kawaii. Cute little animals in a cute little forest with a cute little dragon. Irresistable.

My only point of contention is that when I showed my significant other, he insisted that the dragon passed firey flatulence because of the starry pattern under his cute little behind, despite the clear clue from the dragon's cute little nostril indicating smoke.

Could you clear this up for this cute little significant other?

rofl!! yeah, your better half has a point. however! if the dragon were to stand, you would see the earth would be cleanly unmarred below his bottom. so there, significant other! :p

Nice contrast of flat shapes & volume

Good concept and I like the execution of the surrounding elements. To me, however, the dragon's design does not fit with the other elements. There is also something odd about the neck shape, and the arms appear to not be connected. The shape of the burn where he's sitting is also a bit harsh and distracting.

I love how the trees, really well done.

I agree jxchen. I really like the concept and how you've done the trees/animals, but I think the dragon is a little too un-like everything else (the shading is one of the things that makes it stand out). Everything else looks flat and clean. I think the bumps/grooves implied on the dragon's body(which were done very well) are separating it from the rest of the design. Still, it's a good piece. That dragon just bothers me somehow.

There are a number of fails in this design - plaid belly? flat horns over beautifully haltoned dragon?
All-in -all, though, this is non-retchingly cute; the colors are appealing; the various elements are engaging.
I think I would wear this, sure.

I agree with some of the assessments of the conflicting styles, but all in all I really appreciate the difference of this design to some of the other cartoon styles.

I'm with Loopy, in regard to conflicting styles within the piece. I think that, while cute, it is more 'charming' than kawaii, as someone decided to use. Because of that, I am in approval of it.

Your characters surrounding the dragon have their own 'uniique' details that make them identifiable to you and only you. I would have kept the flatter, more cohesive style throughout and made the dragon more like them. Just because you slap on halftones doesn't mean you'll get a print. I honestly would have loved to have seen a version of this with a dragon that matches the rest of the design. THAT piece, would likely be the one I would support.

Now, everything about this is awesome except the bird with his tail on fire. Why why why??? Fine, torch some squirrels and butterflies, but the poor bird? I like birds!!

Seriously, this is amazing- the shading is spot on, and I love the trees. GMV!

Re: Bebe Burp

wow! several comments on conflicting styles. my subs haven't caused so much hubbub before. pretty interesting. me, i think styles are meant to be maleable. you know, try new stuff. i will however have to try the design w/out the halftones. in the name of science, of course. ;D
thanks for all the comments! everything helps
