I like the design but I'm not wild about the dots where it looks like you wanted a gradient.

It's like they need to be finer or just removed.

Yeah, I was using the texture for the same effect as a gradient, but I liked the roughness and contrast with the smoothness of the other areas. I also thought my flames were too tight, which smooth gradients just reinforce, with not enough of the unpredictable nature of flames. Perhaps I needed either more roughness or a lot less. Thanks for the feedback!

I think just smaller dots but keeping the irregularity/roughness would help a lot. But it's a neat design.

I actually like the rougher dots because it kind of looks smokey to me, like ashes.
