Re: Henna
Thanks for the help in the pre-derby thread everyone. ![]()
Re: Henna
this reminds me of a Journey album cover.
don't stop believin.... hold on to that feelin...
Re: Henna
@ Walmazan - thanks so much. If your tea stars don't print, I might hurt someone.
@ Frik - Nice. I'm totally a small town girl livin' in a lonely world, so rock on Journey. Rock on! ;)
Re: Henna
Very pretty, Boots. This isn't just a shirt, this is fashion. :^)
parrotworks wrote:Girl. You rock. I predict a big V-day seller here.
I've kind of had the v-day spirit these past couple of days (Don't tell anyone though, let's just keep that between you and me. I like to maintain my badass rep).
Thanks, everyone. ![]()

Re: Henna
I knew I wanted this the moment I saw it in the thread last night. So gorgeous. GMV for sure, I can't wait to wear it.
This is gorgeous! GMV

Don't you hate Journey?!
Re: Henna
As someone who is comfortable enough with his (lack of) masculinity to wear something like this, I will be totally pissed if this is beaten by the less feminine designs...
Re: Henna
LOVE the design! Personally not a fan of the placement (I think off-centered would work better for me if the design were narrower), but I voted anyway because that's how much I liked the design. Apparently I'm in the minority since you're in the fog right now, and it's still beautiful!

Even though classic rock makes my stomach churn, I will never Stop Believin! Never! I will also do Anything for Love (but not that), because I Am the Champions (of the world). ;)
Re: Henna
I like the design, but not sure about the off center placement, with it being so wide at the top. Either way nice work, and great choice on the colors.
Re: Henna
Loved it before and still love it now. I want this to wear on V-day even though it's a big Hallmark hype to sell cards, but I digress. Nice job, BootsBots! I kind of like your new robot name. ![]()
Re: Henna
Nice! though i think i would have preferred a center placement.
Re: Henna
Just wanted to stop by and say, although I do love your "usual" work, I always enjoy seeing something you do a bit more different and out of your comfort zone. A job well done, for sure.

Well-played Das Boots. Well-played.

^this.
Beautiful design, though. ![]()
Re: Henna
i love it, im voting for it, i just dont know whether its too feminine for me to buy it....
i mean, im staring at it, and continuing to love it as i stare at it, and i just cant make up my mind...
ah well. we'll see how i feel about it when it wins.
Re: Henna
Voted, i definitely want one but i might not wear it too often cause of the feminine appeal. Regardless its an amazing design. I hate myself for only having patricks and ramyb's shirts, especially when you and spirit and radiomode put out such great work
Also, i have to agree with everyone about the placement, but the shape to me looks like a heart, and it sits right where a persons actual heart is. Dont kno if thats what you were going for but props for it regardless.
Last note, Journey/Queen ftw \,,/
Re: Henna
I love how the more you look at this the more crazy details you see. My favorite is the subtle owl in the center of the heart. Nice to see you branching out and using a different style for this theme. Showing of those awesome artist chops of yours.
Re: Henna
Love the design but I think it's too wide for off-center placement.
Re: Henna
Very beautiful! I like the off-center placement, though I agree that I would probably like it more if it were a little less wide.

Henna is brown.
The lines are brown. The spaces between the lines are colored in.
It's like henna etched on a rainbow. In the shape of a heart. It's just beautiful. I may be too much of a man to cry, but I am just girly enough to rock this shirt.

Henna is brown.
In Urdu and Hindi the word Henna is interchangeable with the word Mehndi. Henna is the plant, not the color. It's actually a very deep orange color in it's purest form. If you apply lemon juice to the henna while it is drying on your hands, it will turn bright orange and the color will not fade for weeks. Personally, I can't stand having Henna on my hands because it is so bright and doesn't wash off. I really like the colorful artistic takes on Henna in this derby. I would rather wear it on a shirt than on my hands! :D

My comfort zone is actually pretty wide. I once bought crack in an alley before attending a black tie affair (ok, not really, not really). Thanks, Mix!

You have shamed me. I am so dumb.

LOL, don't you hate a know-it-all like me? ;) I can't help it. Too much useless knowledge stuck in my brain!
fishbiscuit5 wrote:If you apply lemon juice to the henna while it is drying on your hands, it will turn bright orange and the color will not fade for weeks.
I wish I knew that! I once got an awesome henna tattoo that faded after a few days. Curse you, lack of lemon juice!

Not when they're backing me up. Then they're the BEST. ;)
Re: Henna
I see cats and birds and butterflies and bees and oh MY!! Am I having psychedelic hallucinations or it is real?!?! Great work!!! LOVE it.
fishbiscuit5 wrote:LOL, don't you hate a know-it-all like me? ;) I can't help it. Too much useless knowledge stuck in my brain!
Yeah, me, too - frickin' smartypants.
OK, my bad. I didn't realize (though I should have) that the primary color could be modified or that henna and mehndi had become synonymous at the source.
Me so stoopid!
No disrespect, Boots, this is gorgeous. Though I agree the placement is up for debate. And - rock on! Journey and Queen were faves back in the day. Now it's Disturbed, Korn, A7X.... Still rockin' after all these years. ![]()
Re: Henna
I really want this shirt...I can't wait till it goes on sale!
Re: Henna
This is astonishing and amazing, but I too think that the off-center placement is really detrimental. The image is too far from center, and not far enough. It just looks as if there were really sloppy registration when they were printing the shirt. This is far too beautiful a piece of artwork to damage its beauty by having it off-center. I hope that you/woot will center this design before printing it.
Re: Henna
This is beautiful, Boots! Really really pretty, and it's awesome on cream. I expect this to print!

It is pushed up against the edge of the printable area though, it couldn't be further to the right. I'm sure that means it'll look great printed.
I need this to print, not for myself because I just can't rock that color shirt, but because this needs to be on my girlfriends body.
Please Botsboots, caress her body with your art!
dooomcat wrote:Gorgeous! The off-centeredness is a bit off-putting for me, but I love the colors.
I don't know, personally I prefer the off-center look to the design. I probably wouldn't like it nearly as much if it was centered. Guess it works for some people, doesn't work for others.
Either way, awesome design, and I'll definitely be grabbing one of these shirts when they win.
Re: Henna
The placement's great. Definitely, an unusual entry from you, Boots: good luck!
Very NICE! Will buy if it prints, Good Job
