This reminds me of some of my books of poetry from when I was a kid. They were beautifully illustrated, the characters were drawn with such detail. This has that same life-likeness to it, the girl looks so real. This is awesome, I really hope it wins!

While I don't think I would wear this, I would probably buy it for my daughter to wear when she gets big enough for it. I appreciate the creativity and the style. Well done, you GMV.

Just chiming in to say I love the design. I'm not sure how wearable this is for me as an adult male, but outstanding artwork.

BUT

I do feel bad for the fish when it springs to life... It's pretty much screwed. Maybe if she had a bucket of water with her.

Just a minor thing I thought of after looking at the design. Great though.

Love, Love, Love the illustration but don't see the magic theme here.

Very interesting design, I like the how the colors used make me think of chalk as well. If this wins I'll buy one for my young niece.

Oh and it's magic because the girl is bringing her chalk drawings to life. Who said mages have to be old white men with beards or annoying teenagers?

This is a beautiful and charming illustration; perhaps one of the best realistic illustrations I've seen on shirt.woot . . . but I think it's only on theme because you say it is. Without your explanation, there's very little that implies the other animals came to life through the magical chalk. I think you could make it on theme by having the fish start to come to life. And I think you need a dark brown chalk too.

I don't think it is *that* hard to get. I had to look at it for a few seconds before I got it, but I think there are enough subtle clues to the magic.

Also, I also like that this is fresh compared to most everything else. I would totally buy one for my nephew.

Yeah, give me some credit. I get it. I'm just offering some suggestions to make it more on theme. It's very subtle and I appreciate subtle very much, but the derby description clarified that, "Yeah, okay, a really pretty sunset might be magical, but we want stuff with wizards and sorcerers and magicians." It certainly isn't as abstract as a sunset, but it I don't get "wizards and sorcerers and magicians" from it either.

I'll also add that I will not be upset if this prints as is. I just think it might, after much debate within Woot HQ, be rejected and it could possibly be too late for the artist to come back with a resubmitted design that would get enough votes to print.

Love this illustration, though personally I think it could benefit from a little bit more line weight on the overlaps. I kind of get lost when I'm looking the areas where the girl intersects the animals.

Also, I'm not sure that the theme would translate to somebody who was seeing the shirt divested from the derby. I think you're trying to suggest she drew the other animals too by the little splatters of color around their feet, but it's unclear. Maybe if you included some remnant of the drawing, a faded outline with a slight suggestion of color, it would improve the readability.

As others said, I'm not sure if I'd do this one on a shirt personally, but the illustration is really amazing. The pose in particular had to be challenging to flesh out, and you put it together expertly.

I am SOOO disappointed this won't print. It's quite wonderful. My youngest daughter LOVES pigs and I was so hoping to get this for her.

xiaobaosg, please participate again! I love this design, and I think that, while many of the designs here are quirky and fun and (oftentimes) funny, there are few to none that give me the same feeling that I get looking at your shirt design.
