Re: To Air
Beautiful! Exactly the type of shirt I was hoping would come out of this derby.
I look forward to when it prints and I pick one up ![]()
Re: To Air
Sorry, but there's nothing special or original about this shirt. It looks like every Roxy, Billabong, Oneil girl's shirt at PacSun. And it looks like every tree/bird shirt that plagued this site a couple years ago. TGentry even made a shirt to mock that whole mess; it not-so-ironically won second place in a derby.

The flow reminds me even more of the old daily Saw a Ghost, except that that one, while also simple, had a quite lovely execution and a shred of concept, and this doesn't.
It's nothing remotely original in style or substance, and it's not even done super well.
Re: To Air
Loving all of your shirt designs. This one is particularly beautiful. One of the few I can see as an actual shirt.

I didn't mean to imply that the shirt was like TGentry's. Just mentioning it as a reference point for the overflow of all the tree/bird designs that flooded woot at that time.
Re: To Air
great shirt. i feel like it could use a bottom tho. i dont like how it just ends at the base of the tree o.O
regardless, GMV
Re: To Air
I don't understand why this is in the fog. While it's a nice, simple design, I wouldn't buy it. There are many more worthy designs in this derby that execute the idea of woodblock prints more effectively.
Re: To Air
Reject... rules say you can only use two ink colors. I see one.

It's MAXIMUM two colors, but you can have one, just not above the two.
Re: To Air
I feel like I should be getting this shirt free with the purchase of a yoga mat.
Re: To Air
@awcoburn - So glad to hear that, thank you!
@walmazan - Much thanks!
@kbarber - Thank you!
@lilaviel - I like your description - thank!
@PSquishy - I don't really shop at those stores (beachy stores right?), but I can see your point about it fitting in there... however on the other side, that might say something about it being overall wearable. Sometimes the shirts here that I feel like I could see at stores seem to also be inherently more wearable on a daily basis - just imho.
Sorry if there was once a lot of tree/bird designs ... they were probably around before I joined because I don't recall floods of them in my time here.
@katrinabean - aww thanks! I've really been striving for wearable as a shirt as much as I can.
@jbb04 - Very kind of you to say, thank you.
@icymallard - Wearable is one of the things I was going for. Thanks!
@amreli - thanks! I find that often in simplicity comes wearability.
@potsy - thanks! If this was a non-t-shirt type of print, I would have put more of a bottom, but on a shirt, a line/bottom across the stomach is kind of awkward. Thanks for the vote!
@JRWorkshop - Sorry to see this... do you have suggestions on how I could have improved the execution or made the simplicity better?
@colourcraze - I feel I don't understand why some designs are in the fog and others aren't all the time as well;) Often my own favorites (even of my own designs) do pretty bad, while others I didn't expect to do pretty well. Guess that is the nature of contests that are based on what people want to wear.
@beaterbar - see lokomi's post below.
@lokomi - thanks for explaining that.
@DivineAna - lol! New byline for this shirt - wearing may inspire yoga
