I wonder if this would actually work.
I read that if you boil the potatoes first that they'll produce 10x's as much energy. And you can aggregate the voltage by chaining a bunch of them together in series.
I did read a story about a guy who used 500 pounds of potatoes to power a stereo.
So lighting a pickle should be a snap.
