Re: Escape: Nowhere
In the previous version , I refer to an image from a stand-up cardboard to create one of the zombies.
I updated the submission and while at it adding a steeper cliff.

It's still the same vector pack B.S.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
Whoa! I absolutely love this design. Great colours and overall layout. You totally have my vote (& cash if this wins!).

Great design. Re-Voted!
Re: Escape: Nowhere
I'd buy this today. You've got my vote.
I liked the previous version much better.
The moon looks somewhat strange now.

Yeah, it doesn't look like a circle anymore due to the extra stuff on the bottom right.

This.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
I like this version more, because the moon now resembles a skull.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
why on earth is the moon melting in this version?
Re: Escape: Nowhere
awesomeness! +1
I liked the previous version much better, too. I would've bought that.
The melting moon is the problem. A shame.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
This is drawn so well, i would definitely be down for 1. hope it prints and great design.

This. Most definitely this!
Re: Escape: Nowhere
only one I like in this derby
Re: Escape: Nowhere
On the one hand, I like it, the concept is really cool and wearable. That said, does Radiomode have a thing for butts? It seems like he's all about the moon in his drawings. ;)
In all seriousness though, I'm a little on concerned abou the size of the figures on the shirt. When images get shrunken to t-shirt size, especially as the size gets smaller the smaller the person wearing it, I'm worried that the details will get lost.
(As a side note, apologies, but would some one kindly (emphasis on the kindly) explain what vectoring means? I'm assuming in the context people are using it, that it is meant as an insult. As an average wooter, I honestly would like to know and why it is frowned upon by some in the t-shirt designing community.)

I love circle. Not only moon, everything I draw usually have a circle in it (tiny dots or large backdrop).
Size-wise, even if the actual t-shirt is just as big as this mock up (which is about 3cm wide), you will still be able to see the shooter and the zombies. So I don't think it is a problem.
People are talking about vector pack. Vector pack is premade shape (people, animal, plant, etc) that everyone can download and use in their design - assuming they are intended to be free of copyright.
Vector pack is frowned upon because it is easily available for everyone and for some vector pack means less "art" because it means the design does not start from "0".
It works similarly to Collage.
Insult or not, in my previous submissions, I have used some of these premade shapes. Most vector pack come in the form of silhouette, so now everything (that i do) with silhouette is right away impeached as part of vector pack.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
I'm sorry, but is the moon/sky supposed to be melting, a skull, or a brain?

Thanks for clearing up the vector thing for me. I keep seeing the word crop up in derby threads and wondered what it meant.
Personally, I think the design is well put together, and if you know more about the imprinting process, then I defer on the size issue. I liked "Star Trails Remix" and got it, even though I was worried about print issues with that one as well, but it turned out pretty darn spiffy.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
I want one...great color and design.
craziemutant wrote:I'm sorry, but is the moon/sky supposed to be melting, a skull, or a brain?
I think it's supposed to be foggy or very humid. The warping makes me feel like the moonlight is refractign through light sticky clouds. The light at the bottom, is likewise refracted light in fog. It's plausible visibly and is worth the stretch to get the subtle skull shape. If you look on the right, another cliff and treeline make up the right border. I like it. I hope it wins. I'm afraid the Jatravartid brainbow and cookie monster is going to get the vote of a lot of people who won't actually buy one though. The third spot will go to the scarecrow.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
this is awesome!
Re: Escape: Nowhere
I love this design. It really sums up the struggle against zombies. You can stand your ground, take your shots carefully, but eventually the dead are going to win. You will run out of time, luck or, bullets.
Zombies = slow inevitable doom. It's not like godzilla or vampires or werewolves. You have time to run and fight and hope. It's like seeing a tsunami coming. Run all you want. Your still getting wet.
Re: Escape: Nowhere
Please, please print this somewhere else. And send me a PM of the site you do print it on so I can go there and immediately purchase it.

PM me as well
Great job
Re: Escape: Nowhere
I hope so badly that this prints
It kills me that I can't wear this. In a website overrun by people in love with childish designs, I really wish Woot would have made an exception for this. Girlfriend and I both wanted one. =/
