Man, what a soothing, green image. Just what I need.
Lovely illo, Mr S.

Re: Ancient Oak
Close the derby now, I want it.
Re: Ancient Oak
Hmm, interesting. I thought I was blind... well, I am, but...
I'm surprised you didn't title it, "OLD Oak"
Then you get 2 O's. It's not like you to miss that kind of clever intergration. It's still early...

Re: Ancient Oak
I guess everybody else can hope for second... I'd buy this.
Wonderful design. We're an hour into this derby and I'm already tired of anything octopus/owl related. Spens always brings the heat in a unique way, keep it up.
Re: Ancient Oak
Amazing!
Re: Ancient Oak
This is a winner. I'll be the first to buy it :D
Re: Ancient Oak
This is beautiful. I love the Shinto prayer rope around the tree, what a great touch.
GMV!
Re: Ancient Oak
I love your work <3. Do you use Illustrator?
Re: Ancient Oak

Good thing this design is more beautiful than every single Google Images result from your link!
Great work, Patrick :]

Electric mint?
Re: Ancient Oak
I want to be like you when I grow up.
and a fireman.

Re: Ancient Oak
Time for you to put together a "how-to"... amazing! +1
There's a crazy amount of talent on this site, but finally, a shirt I actually want to buy! Been a while...will be my third if this prints. Great job!
Re: Ancient Oak
I wish there was a tad more foliage at the top, but this is down right awesome! top notch!
Re: Ancient Oak
This is a beautiful design - and I can never have too many tree shirts - but I wish it were on either of the other two shades of green. I think it would have a lot more 'pop' with a more vivid background than the muddy, muted Olive green.
You so often choose Brown for your backgrounds, and now Olive. I can't wear earthy/muted tones nor do I like them aesthetically, which is so frustrating because you're so talented & I often covet your designs.
Re: Ancient Oak
I'm green with envy, hah!
Re: Ancient Oak
I am kind of curious how this isn't being rejectionated... don't the final shirts have to be submitted with Halftone dots if they are made in Photoshop? Does that mean Woot has taken to making the halftones for both Illustrator AND Photoshop now?
I love the design though, don't get me wrong, amazing work.
Re: Ancient Oak
Great one again.
Re: Organ Organs
Re: Ancient Oak
seriously? i promised myself (and my bank account) no more new shirts for a while. why did you have to go and draw something so beautiful?
Re: Ancient Oak
So gorgeous; those naysayers are just mean-jealous!
Re: Ancient Oak
You have created my new daydream location. This shirt is amazingly beautiful!
Re: Ancient Oak
This is beautiful. It makes me think of Yggdrasil, the Norse tree of life. Very soothing and pensive.
Re: Ancient Oak
Wow, this shirt is amazing! Hopefully in for 1 soon!
Re: Ancient Oak
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the tanabata connection
Re: Ancient Oak
This reminds me of a movie directed by darren aronofsky, although the title elides me. You know the one where a gentleman, in his imagination or whatever, lives on an island in space with a dead tree and he's hoping to see it come to life again..
Re: Ancient Oak
Beautiful... Maybe a reprint on not-so-drab-green...

Ancient patrickspens secret!
This is one seriously beautiful shirt. I can't not vote for it, even if it's something I might not wear.
Wait... shinto what now? Can you tell me about the religious nature of this shirt?

The Fountain with Hugh Jackman. I thought the same thing when I saw this.
Absolutely breathtaking design.
I really really hope you win. It's so good. This is the reason I still love woot. A straight forward just plain gorgeous looking shirt.
Re: Ancient Oak
I really really hope this one wins, gotta have it.
Re: Ancient Oak
Your way with color is so fantastic, Patrick. I so wish I had a sense for color like this. Really beautiful work! +1!
Re: Ancient Oak
Re: Ancient Oak
It is lovely. And for those who think it would look better on a brighter background shirt, I don't think the colors, especially the water, would "pop" nearly so well...while I do think it would look good on brown, my guess is that it still looks better on olive.
The real question is where did the water for the waterfalls come from.

Sorta, All shirts comps for the voting public must display halftones.
how ever the file you send to woot for them to use in printing varies by the program used. Apparently it is hard to make halftones in illustrator, so woot took that job off the artists hands, or for some reason.
This artist is a pro, so I am assuming that this comp is displaying halftones. Frankly I cant tell the difference in these small images, so I shrug when ever I see the gradient rejection and just take their word for it.
Re: Ancient Oak
This is gorgeous. I will be buying three of this shirt if it makes it: one for me, one for my boyfriend, and one for when mine inevitably wears out.
Thank you for posting your excellent artwork. <3
Re: Ancient Oak
cool
Re: Ancient Oak
I see another winner! This is an instant buy when (not if) it wins.
