Good point. However- though he wasn't a founding father, he can be considered a forefather.
I left founding out for that reason.

I actually considered using only founding fathers, but good ol' Abe is so iconic, and the gag with the teddy bear was too good to pass up.

We figured it would be via "Four score and seven years ago," but regardless of how you got there, you've discovered this week's Mystery Icon! Congrats! Expect a screaming monkey in the mail, just make sure your address is up to date!

Poor James Madison, slighted again.

Thanks! But did you know that teddy bears are named after Teddy Roosevelt?

He was the "father of the constitution", but all he wore was a powdered wig and a dour face. Not half as cool as a stove pipe hat.

Remember- it's not what you do, but how awesome you look doing it.

Oh man, thanks for explaining. So much funnier that way.

I'm guessing you're one of those people who ruins jokes with the whole "See it's funny because..." line a lot.

Sometimes this world needs that so we know when to laugh...like a laugh track. Otherwise, we're uncertain what is funny.

It's almost Mt. Rushmore, but soemthing completely different. I like Ben there trying to get the kid interested in the kite.

But James Madison was the fourth president. I am deeply perturbed that Woot devoted their magic icon to a president who once started a speech with "four", over the fourth president. I may write four letters' worth of four-letter words.

Re: Forefathers and a baby

This is far and away the finest entry in this derby. The amount of absolute 'win' is staggering. Everything about this design is well thought-out and perfectly executed.

If this doesn't make it to print in this derby, it would be a travesty if it didn't get a 'daily' print.

Well played, sir. Well played indeed.

Ahaha, this is great. ^_^

Does anyone else remember the scene from Three Men and a Baby where the supposed "ghost boy" was caught on camera hiding in the curtains of the apartment where the movie was filmed? XD My sisters and I use to rewind the VHS and pause it there and just scream and be horrified.

I found out later that it was a cutout of Ted Danson that was accidentally left there and wasn't noticed until post-production. >_>

  • Congratulations on winning a Best Loser Award!
  • This is not SPAM.
  • Winning a BLA does NOT mean this shirt won't print -- I'm hoping it does.
  • Your one and only gift is this crappy little badge in your shirt thread. Enjoy.
  • The sweet sweet songs that cloud your eyes - nostalgia supplies.

I agree. Hope it makes it back in the next Second Chance Derby.

Every time I see this, it reminds me of my favorite Mad TV skit of all times, the Thanksgiving episode of "Real F*****ing Talk".

"You Got Forefathers? That's four more than I got!"

Cracks me up every F*****ing time!
