Agreed, the lines on it are perfect. My eye is also drawn to the firewal and the shading there. Great job! Sweet.

I actually only used half tone twice in this 1 for the window and the other was on the shadow on the ground everything else as far as shading was all me. And Thank you.

Great detail on the metal parts of that car! I've always struggled to make things look like metal.

Dig the rod (Spot-on, mate!) and the style. You're my new "Old-school" cartoon hero. Animated gif is a nice touch, tweening needs work. I plan to start using them, as well.

Overall: I'd forking wear it!

For the love of all things holy, don't!

There is nothing more annoying than the derby page looking like the Vegas strip. I personally am hoping for Woot to crack down on all of the animated thumbs.

Votes should be for t-shirt submissions.... not someone's grasp on After Effects.

Nothing follows.

Hey Man where is your entry I have been looking for it?? I saw you post your ideas, so what happened?

LOL there is no tweening. Just a simple frame animation.

Well I do not use after effects for stuff this simple. But I do like to occasionally do a little animating. I get your point that if to many do it, there will be many seizures caused by the gallery.

But no amount of animating can make up for bad illustration or design. So I do not thinks animating does any more than draw a little attention to your work and if the work is bad you gets no votes any ways. LOL

I wasn't singling you out.... just happened to land on your thread. I like your entry and you already got my vote.

I'm just afraid of what the derby could become if everyone starts doing it...

I know you weren't I figured you were just making a general statement. So it is not an issue.

I thought you had valid points so I just decided to respond. This could be a really good discussion topic in the forums.

Does animation on Detail images add anything to your entry?

If everyone starts using them will it eventually make the derby gallery look like the Vegas Strip with to much blinking and flashing animations?

What is everyone's thought on this?

I went to shirt.what and he removed it. For Pete's sake, I have no idea why! I loved it.

I don't think it does. The animations usually annoy me, and reduce the odds that I'll vote for something. If you want to animate something to put in your signature, fine, but leave the derby thumbnail static.

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

I support this. Go hog wild in your sig, but keep the thumbs static.

Votes are never on shirt designs. If they were, Ramyb wouldn't win so many woots. Keep up, or get out of the way!

This is a "political popularity contest" for collectors and, in this venue, you need an edge.

Skillz are skillz and presentation is presentation. Everything helps, if it gets you noticed.

I didn't get to do the one I wanted, I went simple and clean. Nobody liked it. Everyone wanted my sique halftones and, I didn't have the time this week. I'm working a re-design on a dotcom and had to work security for the Judo Jr. Olympics in Dallas, this weekend.

It was a very Judo/Jujutsu specific design, and I think it was over some wooter's heads. Don"t worry, I'll be back!"

Yeah, you know it's not always about the halftones and lofty concepts. You have to either hit the right subject matter (cute/geek culture/anime/etc.) or go all out swirly-Q.
You came close with the mutt-sketeers, but it was still too obscure. Maybe anthro some food or something.

Speaking of food is food one of the most popular subjects for design here?

I am not necessarily talking about printed, but there was a hell of a lot of food related prints there either directly or indirectly related to food.

I am just talking about food use in general I just notice a lot of people love doing food related designs.

Just curious. I think I want to do some food too.

I keep waiing to see an entry from you, J5...
You have lots to say, but I never see anything... not even a concept in prederby.
I got skillz, mad skills, and if you think you have a winning idea, put it up and I'll make it if you can't draw.
I keep trying different styles trying to hit a winner, but all I get is chicken dinner. So if you can come up with a woot gold medal, please share. If it wins, I'll throw you a bone, yes? You have my email and PM, so... get in early, next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
