I've seen that fish skeleton before, but can't remember if it was clipart or someplace else

Is that how it works now? You just throw out an accusation and walk away?

That's cheap.

The fish bone looks just like from Hiefcliff cartoon.

Cheap? I'm not really sure how. I didn't report it, since I obviously can't remember why or where the fish is triggering a memory. The nice thing about comments is that someone else can disprove/prove it "yep, I reused my previous entry from derby X, you must have seen it there" or "it's familiar because it's from Open Office clipart" or whatever.

That said, I have been attempting to google a little but no luck so far so it's probably fine.

I can see your side a little more now that you've expanded on it. The first comment just rubbed me a little wrong. Seemed a little accusatory. No worries.

Hmm, I suppose I should have worded it a little differently to convey more, I dunno, unsurety? (is that even a word?)

Why does that fish skeleton look familiar? Where did you get it? It looks like a logo or something I've seen.

Hmm, I think I'll throw one out and stay. That fish is "borrowed," if I can use that word nicely. I can't place it, but I have very strong pattern recognition and this has triggered that in my brain and it won't leave.
So, I guess I'm on the bandwagon.

Maybe this will help jog the old bean.

Rejected in the woodcuts derby. Different artist listed, but may be a pseudo.

Not sure what I can do to prove I drew the fish, but I can tell you it was drawn by me using gimp. I agree that it looks like some other fish skeletons out there, but how many freaking ways is there to draw a fish skeleton?

YEAH! That was it! That was my second derby ever and I remember it getting rejected. If it IS another artist, Shame on you, but if it's a psuedo you need to fess up.

He already fessed up on submitting it under another name. He is a friend of mine, which is why I jumped to his defense earlier.

I really liked it the first time, when it was just the fish on blue. Sucked that it was rejected that time as there wasn't anything about it that couldn't have been achieved in a woodcut. I'm pretty impressed it was tracked down.... granted, that derby wasn't forever ago, but it was still a good find.

Did you remember it getting rejected because it was so totally awesome and you were depressed that you wouldnt be able to own it on a shirt?

Yes, I do, ...now, and I voted. That's why I remembered it, cuz I really did like the simplicity. Nice recycle.

Good luck,

Yeah, I saw that. I made the reply while reading the threads in the community, not the design. It's all good. As J5 said, "case closed."

It did leave an impression, though, right? Impressive.
