Can't say that I've ever seen an elephant stalk something!

Re: Stalking

I'm perplexed. The only African animal I can think of that adopts that kind of upright posture of the 2nd animal behind the bug, is the meerkat, but I wasn't aware meerkats hunted anything but bugs, arachnids, and sometimes snakes. So I don't know why a meerkat would be licking its chops over another mammal, and I don't know what that mammal is - given the cartoony style I suppose it could be just about any member of the rodent family.

Then again, maybe the fact that the elephant is stalking a hunting male lion is meant to convince us that the actual behaviors of real animals aren't meant to be depicted... It is a very cute shirt, I love the expressions on the faces.

Well... considering the size relations are off and male lions don't generally do any hunting it's not meant to be 100% accurate. I did find a picture of a meerkat eating an elephant shrew while I was researching this so I do believe it happens.

I feel like the elephant is more trying to figure out what the heck is going on---curious stalking more than prey stalking.

Ohhh, I was wondering about that tongue... I thought it was a teardrop.

This design is super cute, though.

I figured the meerkat was just planning to push the little guy out of the way and steal his (bug) lunch! ;)

Well, there you are then! Meerkats do seem to be opportunistic feeders, so I wouldn't put it past them. Also liked someone's suggestion that the meerkat was just planning to push the shrew out of the way, and someone else's note that the elephant doesn't look like he's stalking, so much as going "well, THIS is weird..."

I think this is a great job of getting your vision accross! If anyone is "perplexed" at a cartoon on a shirt...they are WAY over thinking it!!!! Its a fun design, meant to be enjoyed!
again, good job
