Wow! Is there an easy way to make all of those dots?

(oops Double post)
I like the aborigine feel to this.
Re: Pointillizard
Great textured look. Almost like you could reach out and touch it.
Re: Pointillizard
Beautiful, just beautiful.

Thanks! That's the feel that I was aiming for.
I did the dots all by hand - I can think of a couple of ways to do it easier but I think that would have spoiled the look.
My eyes wanted to fall out of my head by the time I was done though >.<

Thanks much - I've never done an art style like this before and I'm thinking about trying my hand at more.

Re: Pointillizard
My favorite entry! Really hope it prints. Great job
Re: Pointillizard
THANK YOU!!! I was so concerned when I didn't see many aboriginal art ideas...I LOVE this.
Re: Pointillizard
Glad to see someone turning to traditional Aboriginal art for inspiration, and doing a design on something that isn't a Koala or Kangaroo. I'd want it.
Re: Pointillizard
looks beautiful!
will it be a backprint ? would make it much more awesome to my mind.
Re: Pointillizard
Very nice
Re: Pointillizard
Hey thanks for the kudos everyone
I think that it would be nice printed on the back too but Woot doesn't take those kinds of requests for the derby...as far as I know.

Re: Pointillizard
There is, quite simply, nothing I don't love about this design. If it prints I just might buy two so I still have it to wear after I wear out the first one.
If you put this shirt in a gift shop at the Grand Canyon it would probably sell a dozen or more shirts a day at $30 a shirt.
Amazing design idea and implementation.
Re: Pointillizard
Amazing work! I hope it prints.
Re: Pointillizard
Great job. I have a hand-painted didge (urk! HAD! Just had to give it up for reasons of space - we're moving.) and the colors here are dead-on. The style is really well-rendered, too. Good on ya, mate. I was hoping for some nice dot art designs, and this balances true-to-style with sellable. GMV.
Re: Pointillizard
Very nice homage to Aboriginal art. But it seems more like a stand-alone piece, not a shirt design. As I look at the overall composition, it seems rather unfinished (as a t-shirt design). The lizard is just kind of floating in space, at an angle that may not wear well on a person, given their sex or build.
You could add some additional nebulous dot art leading and/or trailing the lizard (the grey foot print elements). Or change the lizard's body position entirely, make it climb more vertically down one side of the shirt, or across the chest area.
There just seems to be something missing (again, as a t-shirt design).

I know the feeling about lack of space - my fiance and I managed to defy physics with the amount of stuff we crammed into our storage locker.

Nice, if only I lived close by
thanks
