Yes, you can see through the plane of the portals. That's part of how you know you placed them correctly. And how those stupid turrets always found you when you accidently leave one open the wrong place.

That's not the problem with this design though. I love portal shirts and I bought the other 2 portal shirts quick, fast, and in a hurry, but something isn't right with this one. I think it's the fact that portals are right next to eachother but they are not on the same plane. I think it would be better if the portals were set apart more. Maybe one being in the upper left and the other a little further down and to the right. It just doesn't work right next to each other. I also agree that the perspectives don't quite match. I think that could partially be fixed by moving the two images apart more though.

He's chasing his tail - it's brilliant.

As for perspective it's obvious the vanishing point is in the center of the shirt. For the dog to be properly in perspective with the portals we should be able to see the back side of his rear legs and butt in the right portal. It would have been nice to have proper perspective on both halves of the dog, but the joke still reads well and is fun and cute.

You've always been able to see the other view of whats through the other portal.

I feel that the back side of the dog is a little, not angled the exact same, but it's not insanely noticeable, especially on a shirt. I think it's a super awesome shirt and I wanna buy it

I think it would be funnier if the dog was sniffing itself but that's probably just me.

i'm sorry but i absolutely despise this shirt. A random shirt with cute animals just throwing portals in there. I was hoping any portal jokes would be intelligent instead of fuzzy animals deciding they have the brain capacity to mess with a portal machine. Thank You.

I'm sorry, but I feel like this has been done do death. It's a good design, but I would have liked it better if there was more to it, like if it was chasing it's own tail and caught it or if it was sniffing it's own butt, as someone mentioned earlier. My apologies, but it's my opinion. Please don't take any offense.

Excuse me, but the derby is Sci-Fi Kawaii, which means cute animals doing sci-fi things, such as jumping through portals. Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!
